  1. Hi Holly and Welcome! !

I'm glad you found us and had a quick diagnosis. I too had a really quick one. I passed out early in the morning and by noon time, my family doctor told me that he thought I had NCS...just needed some testing to make sure.

  2. Hi, they also do have iron that you can be given by iv's. My mom is anemic and the last time she was in the hospital because of that they gave her a bag or two of iron. We then found out that iron given by iv's is very hard on your blood vessels and she was back in the ER after only being home one day. It turned out she had a huge blood clot from her hand up to where your arm bends. My mom takes iron pills too and the only side effects she's ever complained about were leg pain. We think that she does have POTS because she has symptoms like me.

I hope that you've found something that is working for you!!!

  3. I've taken so many kinds of antibiotics for UTI's. I keep getting them and we're trying to get to the bottom of them. Some did make me a little more dizzy and have more black out episodes but I got through them. Pyridium is a life savor. I get cramps more so then burning and tylenol/ibuprofen do not help at all. But as soon as I take Pyridium the cramps disapeer!

    Feel better!

  4. My first cardio. (who claimed to know about NCS but really knew nothing) said that I would get better when I was in my early 20's. And he said this, "I never see any old people with NCS...." We knew that was bull because the month that I passed out for the first time, a friend of my mom's and grandparents passed out and was diagnosed with NCS.....she's in her 50's or evven 60's!

The cardio who I have now (who dx'd me with POTS, not just NCS) said that it will take me 5-6 years to feel any better than I do today. He said that sometimes Dysautonomia can get bad again when you enter your 40's and 50's.
