  1. Good point! I can do the salt uptake albeit i don't have POTS. High salt and potassium broths have worked for me as well but the carbs (glucose) is a no go for me. I am nOH and the increasing of the plasma volume does help. can't even argue this one.
  2. good call! those are not so good numbers.
  3. Well some of this may work for most folks but the glucose got to me. first hint was the liquid IV became sicker that a dog. IMO the WHO oral rehydration is for folks that are dehydrated. drink fluids like normal and you won't need to follow this.
  4. @Jyotinot sure if you made the STAT facebook web presentation. i do have reservations as to this start up. not even sure what the base station thing is about but if one is that disabled why would you need it. My take is this is a crowd funded start. pricing is still fuzzy and not set with no clear expectations or proof of viability. I would do the beta testing but will not be willing to pay a dime to do so even my PCP suggested for testing one should be paid. I am out for now.
  5. Thanks! and i forgot to ask my primary Haha brain fog. i do have more specialist coming up so more opportunities to ask. it is on my list.
  6. @Sarah TeeI agree that the pricing is less than desirable given it is only going to be a health wellness device and not a FDA approved one. My blood pressure monitor, heart monitor, and both my blood glucose meters were all just a one time cost and not even near what STAT is asking. only item i pay for is the BGM software that i use $30 a year and that is a reasonable cost for what i get in return. I also do not like that fact that final pricing won't be known until the actual day they open up and take preorders and then i would have to pay in advance for something that even has not been beta tested yet. for this i am out. Not sure what the base station mentioned is. i thought the device recharged with solar. maybe just a holder when not in use? @Jyoti?
  7. Thanks Jyoti. it's ok only thing is it seems that the insulin is making me constipated.
  8. @Jyotiwill be interesting were the pricing ends up. Not sure if i am comfortable paying a upfront for preorder cost without knowing if the device works yet or what the app really includes.
  9. Well @Pistolsaw my primary today he says no to the thigh insulin pokes. i don't have enough fat on my legs.
  10. yes i will end up doing this. still getting over the poking myself with a needle.
  11. @Sarah TeeThanks! I have been injecting in my abdomen. i do get a feeling i might run out of real estate before the poke marks heal up.
  12. Never seen this before "sorry" I have been in the ICU multiple times and they did the potassium drip (yes it is painful) even with a salty IV drip. I do get blood work done every 6 mo even with a experimental increase in salt uptake we have not seen a potassium drop. not saying this can't happen but this is why i like MyChart as we can lookup the data.
  13. well went in to my endo visit today. he did put me on a low dose trial mealtime insulin just so i can eat what i should be. Clinic did pull down the data i collected on my BGM's and they could see the meal time spikes and even when i would eat. all i can say is collecting data helps. he still suspects a GI issue and a pancreas problem. we hope that gastro can ferret some of this out. we did discuss dysautonomia and he is on board that it can be messing with me. endo did mention that i am unique as did my cardiologist and primary (sigh) Insulin pen is scary but so was pricking my fingers sure i will adjust.
  14. did not fill out the poll cuz i do not have POTS but i do have a ANS dysfunction. I have read that a number of folks eat a low/lower carb diet with more protein. diabetics eat a similar diet that are motivated about their DM. I do have to say be careful with the keto/low no carb low fat/no calorie diet. I have induced EDKA a couple of times when fasting after a restricted diet mentioned. Fod wise i have done a few resets (back to safe foods) and ventured back out to find what works for me. sure i do not follow any particular diet regimen.
  15. i have not read the whole post but a marker of EDS is the ability is to hyper extend a finger back to the wrist. I have had joint issues. left knee and right shoulder. I would have your Doc do some blood panels looking for deficiencies before seeking out a specialist. just my take.
  16. I could go for a road trip right about now. First one that calls shotgun gets to come with Lol....
  17. yes i filled out the survey. guess we will see if i get picked.
  18. Well here @Pistoldocs nurse did call and... D booster for now. i am deficient darn it.
  19. well sure there was a reason for the extra tubes of blood taken. fasting glucose went up and matched my BGM before going in and my anion gap went from 4 to 9. Sure my PCP wanted some sort of re-test. Sure i will discuss this with him next week.

  21. well i had the booster back in 2018 and have been taking 2000 a day since. I need to get more sun. sure the doc will order the booster again as i went from 49 back down to 14.
  22. Thanks! helps? don't know but so of my other panels came back i am low on vitamin D yet again i take it daily and did not absorb the B12 either. A1c dropped from 5.6 to 5.5 but yet my fasting blood glucose is on the edge 126 which matches my BGM and my blood glucose is all over the place 23 mg/dl to 356 mg/dl. Endo did suspect a GI/pancreas/malabsorption issue hopefully the data sheds some light. still waiting on the CBC. The tech for some reason held up draws and called my PCP as she wanted additional tests so keep things moving she took one more tube.
  23. every time i get blood work done is a bit stressful for me but one measurement i still don't get is the anion gap. I am glad to see i have stayed in range and most times the gap is 8 but have had 2 tests that i dropped to 4. i just don't understand the test. any help would help to grasp this.
  24. just be careful as to what one reads in the reddit groups. even in the diabetic subs as soon as one cites ketoacidosis or a link to a drug the post is deleted. kinda make you wonder.
