  1. My b/p sitting for the last 20 yrs can run as high as 220/115 but fairly common to run 175/100 but upon standing can drop 100 points but usually drops about 50 to 75 points. I just was RX a medicine with a half life of only 3 hrs. to lower pressure, I have had it now about 2 wks but afraid to take it, thinking my pressure may go too low. Heart rate is usually 66 to 69 regardless of pressure. Quite frankly I do not know what to do, since I have had it for over 20 yrs.
  2. I am almost afraid to try to raise my pressure due to a sitting pressure of 230/115. I will have to be sure whatever I try is a short life such as the Droxidopa and broken in pieces. Once Labor Day gets here I will post my results. I was told that one woman ran a 25 mile marathon after taking this drug. Actually two different people told me about her.
  3. I have had PAF for over 40 years and was DX at Vanderbilt about 25 years ago. I am now excited regarding the drug Droxidopa which was approved last Monday. I call Chelsea Pharmacies and they said it would be about Labor Day before available to public. I am 74 years old and still work everyday. My b/p can be as low as 59/39 standing and as high as 230/115 sitting. I do not take any drugs as I have tried most everything out there. I will say taking some of these drugs within a week , you may not be able to get out of bed especially Midodrine. I found PPA worked over the years best since I could break off only a small piece of the pill at a time. I purchased a bottle of 1000 and it lasted 17 years. The pills really turned a yellow color but I did not care since it worked. It it not on the market now. The Droxidopa is a pill and not a capsule. The drug has a half life of only 3.4 hours and I will have to be careful not to take it late or not more than a small piece to avoid hypertension . My pulse is always the same such as 59 to 67 never more regardless of pressure.
  4. I started burping about 3 or 4 months ago and it seems to come and go. It does have a bad smell. For several years I know occasionally I can swallow a sip of water and almost choke to death so, I am assuming it is my autonomic system. Just my thought
  5. I thought many would have been interested in this drug but I guess not
  6. After 20 years of trying FDA finally approved Droxidopa. This drug was approved this past Monday and was approved in Japan and other Asian countries over 20 years ago. My B/p can be as low as 60/45 standing and I cannot tolorate Mididrine or the other drugs for hypotension. The sad part my pressure goes to 230/115 sitting and pulse is alway 60 to 66 regardless of pressure. I called Chelsea pharmacies and they said it will be about Labor Day before they can get it to the market place. About two months ago I inquired through a connect in Japan but was told I would have to have a RX from a doctor in Japan. That stopped me from getting the drug from Japan. The drug is a pill and not a capsule. I will be able to break it in pieces such as a quarter and it has a half life of only 3.2 hours. I purchased PPA in a bottle of 1000 about 17 years ago and lasted me until about a year ago. I broke all rules on keeping medicine too long. The pills had turned yellow but never caused me a problem. A few years ago this medicine was removed from the market place but it worked great to bring my pressure up. I am not taking any medicines for the last 3 weeks. Dr. Robertson at Vanderbit allowed me to try 20 mg of Adderall and I did that for 3 months and at night my pressure would be 230/115 ,so I stopped it. I would take the 20gm of Adderall about 7:00 am and it was not the slow release but still would be in my system by night. Anyone know how I could get Droxidopa drug earlier than Labor Day?
  7. I just purchased the wrist unit but did not think it was correct and purchased the $80.00 unit at Walgreens. Sitting my b/p can easily be 230/111 and a couple hours later while standing be 70/50. I would hate to take it while in the lying position. I take no Meds. I would say I am screwed.
  8. . I asked my dentist if he was using novacaine and he said no, it was carbocaine and I said great. What he did not tell, was he ordered his carbocaine with 5 % ep. My b/p went to 235/135 and I thought I would die. Hope this saves someone life.
