Tammy Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 As the many strange symptoms this illness causes, the one I don't understand is facial pressure. It is almost like sinus pressure from a cold, but different. I get lightheaded at the same time. Today, the facial pressure is really annoying. Even though it is one of the less severe symptoms I have, for some reason I'm just plagued with it today and for the past week. I'm more lightheaded than normal too, so maybe the two go together somehow. Anyone else have this?- Tammy Quote
Mrs. Burschman Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Yes, I do. I've been assuming that it's my sinuses, but who knows? I haven't gone to the doctor for it. If I went to the doctor for every weird thing I experience, I'd be in there three times a week!Amy Quote
runningshoe Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I have had it too, and pressure behind my eyes as well. Hang in there! Quote
iheartcats Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 I sometimes have this and always thought it was just sinus/allergy and I kind of just go about my day.So this, too, can be POTS related? I wonder how POTS causes facial pressure? Quote
doctorguest Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Facial pressure, discomfort or pain are manifestations of migraines. Most people who think they have allergies or sinusitis and who complain of facial pressure have in fact migraine headache, not sinus problems. Lightheadedness, blurry vision, pain behind the eyes, etc. are also manifestations of migraine headache. Many patients with POTS suffer from migraine, which itself is an autonomic disorder. Quote
dsdmom Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Tammy,Any chance you have TMJ? I was recently diagnosed and have facial pressure as well that is not related to sinuses. Quote
Rachel Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I do get pressure and pain on top of and behind my eyes at times. It hurts even more if I move my eyes. My sister has the same thing, only more severly and much more often. She recently went to the doctor for it and was told that it is a migraine.Rachel Quote

ajw4790 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Yeah, I will get this kind of thing sometimes. For me I think it is more migraines, and once in a blue moon more of a sinus issue. Quote
