MikeO
Not sure where to post this, Just need to vent. I have a 85% blockage in my left thigh. Upside is it is not limb threatening but it is causing a quality of life issue. Options are a stent (have had bad issues with these) or a angioplastie which might not take. For now we will try some supervised exercise. I hope this helps.

Sure the rehab nurses will help sort thru this. End of the day i get the feeling a intervention will have to happen.

MikeO
Well this has come back to haunt me. Yesterday i finally had enough. over last few months my left butt cheek and thigh pain has stepped up a notch to the point it is really painful to walk around. So i reached out to my vascular specialist to let him know what is going on. I do dread the thought of going back on the table again but i suspect he may not want to screw around anymore and get it over with. By the location of the pain i am starting to think that the last intervention i had on my iliac did not hold. Edit: nurse just reached back out. They are moving forward with a angiogram. MikeO
Update. I am being required to get a PCR test prior to the procedure. I did reach out to my PCP and his nurse did get one scheduled for April 9th (a Saturday) procedure is slated for the 12th. Wish me luck! MikeO
So on track next week for my angiogram. Went in for a covid test yesterday at the UW madison testing facility. I do say the turn around times are quick, i was tested at 9:30AM and had the results back by 3:00PM
MikeO
Well just rats. We had to postpone my procedure yesterday. I will just leave it at that.
MikeO
Rest of the story. The insurance had pushed back for more info as to the upcoming procedure. The table (angiogram) is just the exploratory part (diagnostics) of what maybe coming down the pipe and to approve a really expensive surgery i get it. Whether i had brain fog and did not get it. i do finally get why meriter hospital in madison was asking so many questions more geared to a extended stay with them. @Pistoli need your good luck. MikeO
Well the process has started again. Pharmacy from Meriter Hospital called and we went thru my drug list. I can't help not to think i am going to stay for a bit. Throughout this whole process there has been a reference to some Director even the scheduler said i was unique and not a lot of folks go thru that. Hopefully i am just panicked and all is well. MikeO
Went in today for my angiogram at Meriter hospital in Madison today. Can't say enough as to the quality of care they give, nurses were very thorough. I did have a intervention on my left thigh and has helped with the calf pain that i have been enduring. My nurse even wrapped my arm in a hot towel just to get a good IV poke. They also made sure that the catheter entry would not start bleeding out before i was discharged (first for me as i have had issues with my local providers before) I can't say enough for the team even my Doc's Nurse Practitioner stopped in. While i am not quite out of the woods i am feeling better that i am in good hands. IMO the techs that run the angiogram prep and procedures are the best in the country, can't say enough. My local health care provider can not even compare.
