cupcakemomma5
i have noticed over the past month, that my skin on my arm has lost some if its pigment(around 3" in an abstract paint splatter look)It startedout really small and then changed to this. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen to them as well. Thanks
arizona girl
I think that sounds like vitaligo. Which is an autoimmune condition of the skin. Google vitaligo images and see if they look similar. I might not have spelled it right.
POTLUCK
tinea versicolor is another possibility, and less likely Pityriasis alba Ask the doctor.
issie
Yes, I have that. For me it's vitiligo. It does have to do with the autoimmune system. But, they don't really have any good treatment for it. Issie
Relax86
I get tan in Jan/Feb. People are always telling me I look like I've tanned. I usually tan once/week....and use sunscreen on my face so I don't have an island look in the middle of winter. But it's been 3 weeks since I've tanned and I look bronze like an island vacation girl. Hence, the classic "you don't look sick ~ you look great!!"
AllAboutPeace
I have this too, on both arms (upper arm shoulder area). It does look like paint splatters as some spots are larger than others. It is something that definitely came along post-Pots, for me.Thanks for the info everyone...I'm going to look into those things
bellgirl
I also have this on my arms and legs, and it is most often found in places that the sun shines on...☼. It is usually due the lack of melanin of the skin in that area, and it is probably vitiligo, as Issie, also stated. Mine are spots, not splatters, but if you look it up, there are different kinds; there are several things they believe it can be related to including autoimmunity, but there are other possible causes including viral, neural causes, stressful events, a extreme case of sunburn or chemical causes, as well.
