Jacquie802
Just wondering if anyone with rapid heartrate at night benefits from taking Ativan or something similar. The beta blockers drop my blood pressure too low and I can barely stand the next day...
diamondcut
I was told by a dr to try Moxonidine too for the same reasons.
Mytwogirlsrox
Ativan didn't help lower my HR, but it sure did make me sleep like a baby
Guest Alex
I used to take ativan sublingual when being awaken by episodes of rapid heart rate. Most times I was able to relax within 1/2 hour, but it didn't always help. I only took it "as needed" as my dr cautioned me on its potential side effects (could be addictive for some). Now i'm on clonazepam - longer acting benzodiazepine (same class of drugs as ativan) and I haven't had a nocturnal episode in a very long time. Plus, when I started the clonazepam it also helped me sleep better ...not so much lately.hope this helps.good luck
brethor9
I have taken 1mg of ativan before bedtime for about 3 years.....it definately helps with my night time tachy episodes....clonazepam just made me really dizzy and yucky....shows every benzo is different.....I have tried every other med and its the only thing that helps. Although I did find out recently it is listed on Dr Afrins medication protocol for MCAS so I think thats why I get so much benefit from it its a mast cell binder...... good luckbren
