Kimbo Posted December 7, 2003 Report Share Posted December 7, 2003 Well, I was glad to see all the feedback on having surgery with pots. I had my surgery on Thursday and all went really well. I am still in some pain but the pain meds are helping. The doctor said that it was not a hernia but a mass, something that occurred when I had my gastric bypass surgery after it healed. I guess some sort of tumor. The doc took it out and said that it was not cancerous but when she had to cut some lining off it created a hernia and had to put some mesh inside to hold it back. If this all makes any sense to anyone. All that matters to me is that I made it through okay and hopefully down the road the surgery won't affect my blood pressure anymore than it is now. I still have my referral to see a specialist at UCLA in Jan. I can't wait. I need to understand this POTS thing alot more than I do and and maybe there might be some more alternatives to my meds to help with my blood pressure and passing out episodes. I really want to go back to school but if I can't this under control, it may be a reality that I may not be able to. we will see. anyway thanks for the feedback.
