MightyMouse Posted March 28, 2009 Report Share Posted March 28, 2009 Hi guys, for those who had offered thoughts, intentions, prayers on my dad's behalf, I wanted to let you know they moved his surgical date to April 8th, Wednesday. He's a bit bummed b/c he had mentally prepared for the 1st, but I actually think the 8th is a better option b/c first it allows more time for his bilirubin levels to fall further toward normal, and secondly, he' be FIRST on the schedule which means less likelihood of a last minute cancellation b/c of getting too late in the day or getting bumped b/c another, more critical case rolls in.Nina Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

juliegee Posted March 29, 2009 Report Share Posted March 29, 2009 I know he's frustrated, but the later date will also allow him more time to regain his health/strength (clean living!) before surgery- making it safer. And, there is no substitute for being 1st on the schedule. That will make the actual surgery day so much easier. Your whole family will be in my prayers on the 8th, Nina.
