Buying meds on the web

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

Have any of you had success with online pharmacies? I'm looking to save money on prescriptions. I'm fairly close to Canada, but am hoping I can find something online that will save me money before resorting to a trip across the border.

Let me know if you guys have had success with online pharmacies...and if you've saved money.

Best,

Michelle

Hey there Michelle,

I did a little more searching on NDRF and still can't find the darned post. However, I did find one useful site via a few google searches. I also looked on epionions.com for any consumer reviews of Canadian pharmacy services, but found nothing.

Last time I heard they illegalized it. But tonight, they are voting on the new medicare plan which will let people buy drugs from Canada. What these drug companies are doing is unethical and immoral. If they can sell the drugs cheap in Canada, they can sell them cheap here. We need fixed, regulated prices on prescription medication.

Tim, are you sure they made it illegal to ship the drugs into the US? I think what they did was made it illegal to have the storefront places that brokered the shipments from Canada into the US; as far as I could tell it was still legal to either purchase the meds in person and carry them over the border or to order them online or over the phone.

Thank you Nina! The price I will pay in Canada is SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than what I was paying here. To give you an idea, my son's med costs $120. for 30 pills here in the US. I can get 100 pills (3 months worth) for $59. through the Canadian pharmacy. That is fantastic! Thanks SO MUCH.

I'm so glad that you'll be able to save some cash! We're they quick with shipping you the medications? Also, were the shipping costs reasonable? Just wondering.

Very helpful! Thanks Nina. I can save quite a bit this way, though I can't get Ativan. That's a good thing though, as I am finally beginning to taper off that garbage.

I am seeing my pharmacologist this Wednesday and am going to do a complete review off all the meds I have tried and their effects - positive, negative, or neutral. After that I'm goin' shopping in the great white north...

They only charge $10. for shipping and it arrives within 2-3 weeks. I will place my first order tomorrow, right after I take Kenny to his doctors and get a written prescription (his doc just calls everything in for us). I'll let you know how things go.

Thanks again,

Michelle

Wow!!!! That sure is a lot of money to save!!! I may check into ordering from Canada myself as I think some of their prices are below my co-pay for a bunch of my "everyday" meds.
