  1. Hi angelloz, yep ive had a few of em. Drinking the prep and dealing with the head was my prob. I managed it but u do feel very dehydrated. I would advise being admitted overnight while u have bowel prep, then ur there for procedure next day.
  2. I didn't know anti fungal could bring up vestib issues interesting.
  3. Thanks jon Yeah couple yrs back I tried prednisone for dizziness, helped a lil. Seeing rheum at end of month so I ll re address it.
  4. Think I ll give those stockings a try in winter. Found I was worse on florinef too.
  5. Thanku Rachel, going to look over this. Is it worthwhile getting histamine and tryptase levels checked?
  6. Ive been reading over mast cells, sometimes I fit it other times I don't. I do have itching and sensitive skin and take zyrtec for it but whether its mca related?
  7. Hi everyone, does anyone take high dose b12 at 1000mcg? I mainly take it for cfs/me but iam getting itching, sweats and pimple outbreaks. Anyone had similar effects??
  8. Ta Katy, yeah I tried that, been ongoing 4 yrs now, really getting me down. Exercises didn't help me.
  9. Thanks sideofsalt - great name btw. My main problem is dizziness but don't have norm dizziness also a vestibular vertigo component. Hmmm so hard.
  10. I have noticed a lot of people here take zyrtec. Is this to address mast cell activation, just wondering what it does for you? I have taken it the odd time.
  11. Hi potluck, just been reading through your post, I'm sorry u had such a bad run of depression, I too am glad you're not as bad as you were.
  12. hmmm midodrine, I will ask about that this wk. Nuun, I shall look into that too. Might be very similar to one powder I tried here in Australia. I gotta be careful as I have no large bowel is all. Thanks.
  13. Thanks Katybug, I might try look for that book. I am trying breathing techniques that my psych has got me doing too. I too find I am better if I can do something physically. Getting out of the house can help a lot, so I do push myself where possible. I need to get back to doing light movement exercise of the arms and legs, sitting and standing. Been bit slack of late. Hi artluvr, I'm sorry that you battle with anxiety. I think I have generalised anxiety too but at present I just take atenolol also. I think to myself, being sick this long how can you NOT have some nerve issues. It's not like we're robots after all. Hey Raisin, yes I need to learn to ask for more help when needed. Just a fortnight ago my psyche said we'll try 2 monthly visits, instantly I thought uh - oh! I could easily see him at the 1 month mark yet I am trying to prepare myself for him not being there from June on. I hate to think I have become dependent? and then another part of me thinks, why don't I get help while I can. I dunno. No sweats for you - wow - bodies really are odd hey! I might look into the vests ta. Thanks all for the advice. Such a great site x
  14. Hi Guys, I am of course going through depression with some anxiety. Have been under a therapist for just under a year. Mind you appointments have been fortnightly or monthly - only availability there is. It has helped somewhat but I am still depressed. Probably because I am sicker the last couple months (it is summer). I can not take any anti dep or anxiety meds though, have had bad reactions years ago bowel wise (not to mention all the head probs) So they are out of bounds for me. I do take amitryptiline at 10mg for sleep. May have to up this one I'm thinking. I'm wondering, are others in similar positions? Do you find you need something nerve wise but you just cant take anything???
  15. Hi Arizona girl, yes my spec has me on megafolinic and methylcobalamin b12. I have very lil understanding on this gene defect and god knows my spec doesn't explain it easily.
  16. Hi Rachel, will have a read. Ive been diagnosed with this gene defect but all in treated with us folic acid and vitamin b. I'm sorry your son is going through all this trouble too, its not easy, for anyone. Hope your doctor was able to help answer some questions.
  17. Thanks chaos, will have a look over that.
  18. What is midodrine again? So overwhelmed by drug names lately. And what are nuun tabs? Never heard of em. I feel like I have to come up with all the info to present to docs, coz they dunno what to offer.
  19. Chaos, I'm glad your sweats have somewhat settled down. Yes its hard to know what's helped after a while. I agree. I'm sorry you don't sweat anymore sue, that would be just as problematic. I have read it can go either way. Bodies are so annoying, I'm surprised they work at all.
  20. Me again, I hear a lot on mast cell activation Can someone explain the symptoms? And how do u treat it? Ive googled it but I this something dysautonomia sufferers get?
  21. Thought it was a beta blocker, ta. Never heard of alpha 1 ..... I get overwhelmed by all the things to watch for and unfortunately docs don't mention them either.
  22. I hear ya katybug, showering then sweating is literally the pits. Sounds like u find it very difficult staying cool. Ice packs outside is a good idea. Might try it. I'm upping water intake Sarah but dunno if its helpin. Haven't heard of clonidine looneymom, sorry your son struggles with it too. Will mention it to my gp next wk. Thanku again guys x
  23. Yes I find I am worse with changes in temps, even if it goes from hot to a cool change the next day. No snow in South Australia tho so can't help on that sorry. Overall I find winter better. Your description of how you feel is exactly how I am. Struggling to look at computer.
  24. Thankyou for your replies much appreciated. Is atenolol a beta blocker? Im not real with it today, head fuzzy and dizzy surprise surprise. and thanks for the link Katybug will look over it when I can. Interesting about the prednisone, i think I took it yrs ago and felt it helped somewhat too. Might be in the pipeline. I get no definitive diagnosis either - bit like you, mcas too - just want someone to help treat it all. so frustrated.
