Thanks, the reason I say this isnt a self dx, is cause of the positive tilt test results. And I think the cardio doc seen there really wasnt he could do for me (Ie heart surgery ) or he just didnt know what pots was , granted its not a common thing , esp in males. My bp didnt really drop but at one point it was 135/40 which is on the odd side . During the tilt test , my hands started going blue from the blood in them,my head was throbbing, I had chest pain, shoulder pain, and I started to have an aura to my vision.

No its not a self DX...on my TTT my heart rate went from 70 to 120 ....the doctor didnt seem to care that the TTT showed it, I doubt he even knows what pots is .

besides prolly having pots i dont have anything else that I know of.. and in 2 years i went from 300 to 200...so its not like i am underweight or anything ...

I haven't taken any meds at all for years.

i was overeating and slowly over 2 years lost the weight .

is there any way at all my doctor is right tho?

My understanding is that if your HR goes up 30 points on the TTT , its pots

Okay So I had the tilt test. it was Positive ...my bp dropped and my HR went from 70 to 120 ( 50 points ) and he called today and said " yes there a mild drop in bp, and that was most likely caused by you losing weight"...what the heck... Why cant I find a doctor that knows what he is doing and can help me ....

Anyone have an idea what I can do to help with the pain, cramps, and bloating I have after I eat? prilosec , tums, pepto didnt help, and my doctor doesnt seem to think I need anything for it ...but its getting to be a pain.

I may be one of the rare male potsies but i can understand...we have a siamase cat thats in heat...ever hear a siamase they sound as bad as babies crying. Hope we all can get the sleep we need .

Just today I have downed a 1 gal jug of water and a 2 liter of soda...and i will be up for 3 more hours...

I haven't been put on any meds yet...the constant thrist and frequent peeing I have have been around for years...prolly the pots too

I have a question though...how will they determine what treatment I need and all of that ?

Had the test today it was such fun....yeah, 12 ekg leads, had to have my chest shaved, strapped to a table, lied flat for 20 mins then left at 70 degrees for 45 mins, oh and the iv line pumping saline in me, at least they decided i didnt need isoprile or nitro. First my palps started then the neck/head pain, after that was the dizziness and then my hands started to turn blue o.o . When it was all done...my HR had went from a baseline of 70 up to 125 , and at one point my bp was 137/47 , at another it was 105/50 . So thats my story of the test today. The result...I have Postural Othrostatic Tachycardia Syndrome or POTS like I suspected.

My TTT is on Thursday ...at 9 Am ...yay for early time ...anyhow my docs said they are going to do one without meds to see what happens and then one with the meds to see...is that dangerous or uncommon, anything i need to know about before i go, as you can tell i am abit scared.

Yes...omg yes, I have the whooshing, the tight feeling in my neck , and anytime i sing ( yeah i know , not the brightest of ideas for a potsie but ) my carotids get very distended , so much that my mom has commented that she didnt want them to pop o.o. yes I got the choked feeling too.

Sorry your tummy is being a brat with you, I'm the same way sometimes all last week i couldn't eat without getting really bloated and really blah feeling...not fun. My other tummy pain is the fact i will eat and then have something like hunger pains...tho i just eat.

Wearing my 30 day holter here and ,i have my TTT on thursday. my cardio seems to think its either pots or adrenal disorder ...but i think its the hyperadernal pots

Mine itches around my socks and theres some swelling there
