that was such a good point- that pushing makes thing worse. I live by that to such an extent that I actually forgot. Like- it's a given. Also, when people say..........................you should...........

I say "I can't", so far, people seem to understand that.

I think my tactic is similar to earthmothers. there is much humor involved.

And I am secure having been through this episodes several hundred times.

So riding it out is second nature..

And, I don't care what people who choose not to believe me,think.

Have you read up on Rheumatoid arthritis? I believe it effects all joints and is symmetrical.

The feet do have alot of joints.

if you find that it does sound like you, keep in mind that remission is not unusual.

i say that because I feel like the thought of RA is upsetting, and I hope you find

Jana, do you get any skin color changes in the effected areas? I ask because my issue is still undiagnosed . Unless ' Likely Raynauds' counts.

Since ice is soothing, I know it's not Raynauds. Also it's injury related. it started at work, an Ice cream specialty restaurant. Its from trying to scoop rock hard ice cream.

Its moved to both hands even tho I did not scoop ice cream with my left hand.

OMG this reminds me of a true story. I was talking to a co-working and I said "I have two main symptoms, the first is fatigue

and the other..........hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....I forgot what is was. I finally said, "oh, I don't remember".

About 2 minutes later I burst out laughing so hard I ,literally, couldn't get the words out.

Eventually I squeaked, out , the second is poor memory.

alas yes. I was diagnosed with pseudoseizures (seizures meant to get attention and sympathy) and was sent to a psychiatrist.

I did go. He mistakenly diagnosed epilepsy -

turns out to be convulsive syncope

I have heard of it, and I have some idea of what your talking about. i have something, a vascular spasm. It looks like spontanous bruising,

the pain lasts as long as the "bruise". Thank God.

Does ice helpyou at all? it does help me.

I have also been on Neuroutin, and like the other poster had to aclimate to it. Takes 3 days for each dose

increase- I think.

There are books about spontanious awakenings.

I think its true for men and women. Hopefully in your fiftys you have most of the stuff you need and

can focus more on life then work. It is true for me, I'm 53. Also I think for women - the kids are raised- (for the most part) and that is huge.

i HAVE TAKEN IT, its settles down in 3 or 4 days. I don't know what your dose is, at higher levels

you remain impaired. I am sure he wouldn't start you on a high dose tho.

I think neurontin is a good medicine.

I would- if I was you - titrate up slower- (on the carbomazapine)you should adjust after a few days each time. A Pharmacist could help you with questions - good luck.
