  1. I hovered on the edge of conscious and unconscious, my body convulsing, for a few seconds. (no more than 10-15 seconds, this didn't last very long)

I take back what I said then and I suppose it is just as your reported it. A quick drop in HR/BP can cause convulsing without going out.

As I understand it this is a big and fast drop, but dropping to a point were consciousness can be maintained.

    NOT A DR.!

  2. I have convulsive syncope. I have partial memories just like you describe. When there are people around

that is when I find out they are partial. In other words I think I was conscious but I was out and

    obviously don't remember that part!

I also have to tell you, you probably just think it was 10 or 15 seconds.

I am not clear on if you collapsed to the floor.

    did you?

  3. Oh yea there was Drama.

The EMT was handsome one male, one female and they both were excellent,

    smart , friendly.

One bystander texted his daughter(Dr. I think) and then tried to explain

a little about neurocardiogenic syncope. Silly guy- I kinda know.

Another said I should carry a Medic alert card. I'm like .yea, its in my wallet.

    Everyone meant well tho.

I'm good. I laid down with my hood up cause I knew it was coming. I tryed to alert someone.

    He didn't speak english. HA!

I was a little sore. It could have been alot worse.

    thanks for the replies

  4. I had to be somewhere weds. Got there and remembered that I needed to take

my AM Norpace. I go home and take an immediate release which I have for

times that I need it up to levels fast.

Oppsy daisy not fast enough . I am the star of the pavement, complete with

convulsions. The good news is they let me stay to take care of the business at hand and drive home, because the Dr. whom the EMTs

called agreed that I'd be fine soon.

  5. thanks guys, and Sue to answer your question. (about why I think I had low blood volume)My PCP and I discussed

the timing of the worst symptoms and the improvements. They corresponded to perimenopause heavy flow.

And he said he had seen low blood volume with perimenopause before.

And Reen- post menopause the bp often rises - so it was menopause that helped me with both blood volume and

higher bp. With NCS and OH those are important factors. The drop in BP from OH kicked in the NCS response.

  6. Sooooooooooo, where as I used too wear 30-40mg compression stockings the 20-30 is my preferred now. I

no longer "salt load" I do try to water load - still. My 150mg Norpace is now 100,

AND I am off the SNRI (which raises BP). My Norpace dose was lowered a month ago so

it does look like a success. :)

I am glad since Norpace is a med with serious side effects. I have been on it 6 or 7 years,

I did need it to function. I think menopause has helped me also. My BP is up and most

likely my blood volume too. I am -like 120/78 from-like 90/60.

    :)
