  1. Hi

Thanks for the info. I did do some searches today and have been reading up on it quite a bit. Lots of useful information.

Still not sure though. My dogs were wonderful with the cat and I know they miss him. I just don't know how they would welcome a new kitty. Tough decision. Too bad dogs can't talk :D or this would be a much easier decision..

    thanks again

  2. Hi everyone B)

AS you know we had to put our prescious kitty to sleep a few weeks ago and we all miss him tremendously... He was such a sweetheart and very loving.

We have been talking about getting another cat, but we just aren't sure. We have always been dog people but Kelly talked us into getting Smokey when he was a kitty. He was very sick when we brought him home, we nursed him back to health and he had an awesome 8 years with us. We have two dogs as well. I guess thats my problem. Smokey was the first cat in our family. We had no idea what to do with him, so we basically raised and trained him like a dog. I know that probley sounds funny but we did. Smokey would fetch, roll over, play dead, the whole nine yards!! He was a great cat!!

I guess my question is how would I introduce a new cat into the house, without trematizing him/her into the house?? as well as the dogs. Is there a way to do this???

I'm also guessing the faster we do this the better, since the dogs are use to a cat being in the house...

Any suggestions would be helpful :)

    thanks

  3. So sad

My daughter Kelly started college a few weeks back, we thought maybe her cat was just lonesome for her or depressed. I took him to the vet right away, they did some blood work they found he was suffering from a liver disease, we went from oral antibiotics to bringing him in daily for shots very quickly. He went downhill so fast. He hadn't ate in two weeks, except for what I force fed him. This morning I brought him in, he was so sick and looking so sad :) . The vet said he was really starting to suffer. I feel so bad. We are all so heartbroken

  4. Oh Becky!!

Sorry things didn't go as planned... But definately keep your chin up things will work out for you, sometimes it just takes a little longer than what we plan. Try to relax, easier said then done, I know

Good luck, I'll be thinking about you :)

  5. I made it through the first week!!! WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!

I am impressed with myself, but not taking anything for granted!! I know how things can come crashing down when you least expect it. :) Yesterday I was there for almost 6 hours, but only working about 4, she is still training me and I am amazed at the business she runs...

Her staff is just like one big family, of course there are alot of issues but in the end they seem to really be there for each other.

Tomorrow she has a group of staff going down to childrens hospital (in detroit),to the cancer ward, half are doing makeovers with parents, more like pampering and the other half are working with the kids, decorating caps that have attached ponies for the girls and without for the boys. She is amazing!!

She also does a fashion show in the fall, another fundraiser, her models are all cancer patients from the hospital. If she'll let me I'll post some pictures...

I've known Angela my whole life, but had no idea what she did with her business. as impressed I am with myself, I am more impressed with my friend.

    Have a great day everyone,

  8. Mom is home and doing well!!

They, assuming after all of the testing coming back quite normal, that she was allergic to the antibiotics they had given her to go home with. As well as probley having some intestinal flu bug that is definately going around. Her congested heart failure had started acting up again, but is now under control with a new heart medication.

She has never been so miserable in her life, but is relieved to be home and feeling much better!!

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, it means so much...

    ((Hugs)) and take care

  9. Well its been two years now since my really bad bout with NCS, and after being hospitalized and bedridden I told myself one day I was leaving this house to be half way normal again!!

My girlfriend owns a small chain of hair salons, and has one about 1/2 mile from our house. She called the other day and asked if I thought I would like to work part time with her. I'll be doing her payroll bi weekly and accounts rec/payable. I'll be in small office with just her, and I have another girlfriend that works there as well. They both know and understand whats wrong with me, and are a big part of my support system.

My husband and I discussed this off and on for a couple of days, I kept changing my mind (am sure my nerves), but my daughter Kelly finally just said Mom, go for it!! She's your friend, so at least your safe!!

If you can't handle it, she'll totally understand.

So Tuesday I went in for a couple of hours and did great!! My brain was even functional!! I really thought I had forgotten quite a bit but it slowly came back and my friend Angela was more than patient with me.

So we'll see. It was great to get out of the house and doing something for myself. Dr. Grubb will be so impressed!! Now if I could just lose 40 pounds!!

  11. thanks everyone for being here when I need you!!

They haven't been able to quite pin point anything yet... They do know she has congested heart failure, as well as the cellulitis, but don't feel this is whats going on with her right now.

The stomach pain is unbearable, still giving her morphine. They took a cat scan last night, but she wasn't able to keep the barium down, so they are not quite sure how the test is going to turn out. I did find out from a friend they could do this with a dye contrast, not as good as the barium but can be done, I will talk to her doctor about maybe trying that when he calls.

My prayers are with everyone else, as this year starts out so crappy for so many :) New years is suppose to be new beginnings, (good ones) or so we hope :)

    ((Hugs))
