  1. potsparent my son sunken chestbone happened after a biking accident many years ago ~
  2. potsparent thanks for your reply My son had been off his inderal for awhile he wanted to see if he felt any better off it since really didn't notice a difference being on it in in the way he felt. a couple days after we started the 12.5 zoloft he asked to go back on the inderal cuz he has been feeling extremely crummy, I was hesitate but knew he had taken it before. It is very hard Dr. Low from Mayo has our primary dr. doing the ssri and she hasn't had alot of experience with it so we started low at 12.5 and the went to 25 and then 50 tomorrow. Does your daughter take a ssri ? My son wants to get rid of his brain fog sooooo badly~ Time does seem to make some things better` I really hope this zoloft works, not sure if I can talk him into taking another drug after this Thanks again
  3. My seventeen year old is trying Zoloft for brain fog , he is starting on his 19th day and he is saying is brain fog is getting worse. We started a 12.5 for one week and he now is one 25 . He also had started back one his inderal after being off all meds for 2 months because he felt they do anything to make him FEEL better. Wondering if we should give it a week or two to see it if it improves ?? He is pretty frustrusted ~
  4. are you taking a decongestant ? My son has allergies but does't like to take anything cuz of all the other drugs he takes .
  5. I would have to agree with everyone else. My son saw Dr. Fischer in Peds who was awesome, he also saw Dr. Low who did many many tests and tried a few meds with us and then told us he couldn't offer us anything else for our son. Maybe an ssri but we needed to get it from our primary care Dr. If you really can't find anyone else around I would go there because it is very difficult to find Dr's who treat POTS. GOOD LUCK !!!
  6. lalalisa, Thanks , I wish you the best of Luck with it ! Please let me know how it works for you ~ beala@comcast.net Are you taking anything else ? Laura
  7. Where is this Dr. Abdallaah ?? What state ?? Laura
  8. Thank everyone, your support is truely appreciated .The only medicine my son is taking now is by having a girlfriend which has really been a lifesaver. He feels so good about himself, hope it lasts. None of his meds ever made him feels better so he went off them a month ago and he only has 8 days of school left, yea !
  9. wow you guys I can't imagaine going througth this without any of these websites around or the info. It must have been so hard. Thanks for all your notes~ we have checked out dynakids it's awesome. Has anyone tried celexa fro brain fog with any results ?
  10. Thank you both, never thought I would be wishing my summer to go by fast. Dr. Low did want my son to try paxil but not sure we would like to try that at this point, most people gain so much weight and it is so difficult to get off of, and they never seem to talk about that. We have only tried two beta-blockers and Dr. Low said that he had no more suggestions for us after tring those and mestoin. Can't wait till August. Has anyone heard of boys in their teens getting better around there second year or is this a myth ?
  11. My 17 year old has pots and we have yet to find anything that has made him feel better. We have seen two Dr's at Mayo. Tried two beta-blockers, promatine, mestinon, salt, gatorade, light resitance training, elevated the head of his bed all with no help in any of his symptoms. The one symptom he would like to see some help with is brain fog. We do have a Appt. with Dr. Grubb in August but this seems so far away. Hoping that maybe he can enjoy his senior year like most teens should. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful ~ Tis very hard to see your child at such a young age struggle. thank you ~
  12. Best wishes to you and your Mom~ you sound very close Laura Looking forward to having a break from school soon~
  13. Thanks, my son did use dexidrine for awhile but he was using others meds at the same time. Right now he wants to try nothing ,so I need to let him be, I just would like him to have a better senior year, being his last year of high school. We have a appt with Dr. Grubb this August so might see what he has to say. We have been going to Mayo in MN.
  14. sara831 brain fog I wish I knew-my sixteen year old son has pots and his biggest compliant is brain fog. Nothing the Dr. has suggested has helped, he has suggested our primary Dr. give us a ssri to see if that will help_have heard clexea and welbetrin have helped some people. But my son is not anxios to try any more drugs right now we have tried sooo many. We have an appt to se Dr. Grubb this August hope he might have some ideas- Who is your Dr? Good Luck to you ~
  15. My teenager son just started taking it today. 60 mg Morning and at noon. I heard it can give you diarrhea. Will let youknow how it goes, he also takes inderal for his POTS.
  16. My son had a sweat test and we were told no lotions or shaving 24 hours before test. It hasn't to bad. It took two showers to get the purple power off . It is not very strong in color. Good LUck.
  17. Talked with Dr. Low's nurse today and he wants my son taking mestinon in morning with breakfast and at noon. Of course, today he woke up with a fever hope it's nothing serious. I guess we will wait a while to try it now. L-
  18. Thanks everyone- I am waiting to hear back form Dr. It has been very frustrating to see our son be so sick with no real help so far, so we would really like to try mestinon. I will let you know how it goes. I couldn't do it without these websites> THANKS
  19. Has anyones teenager tried mestinon? Our sons Dr. wants him to take 60 mg in am and 60 at noon but he has school lunch at 10:30 which seems to early to take it again after eating breakfast at 7:30. We are wondering if he can take his second dose when he get home from school at 3:00. Any ideas
