  1. I got my medical bracelet in the mail today and I absolutely love it! Thanks so much for donating it for DINET's auction. I never thought I'd actually want to wear a medical bracelet. :(

Thanks again to everyone who donated for the auction. You guys are great!

  2. Hi Melanie,

We did think about going the Charity route (missionfish) on ebay. Unfortunately the old adage "nothing for free" applies here too. Missionfish charges extra fees on top of what ebay already charges, which is why we chose not to use their service.

  3. We did wonder if the holiday had anything to do with lower bids. The website in general is a little slower in summertime...the kids are out of school and a lot of people are busy. We may hold next year's auction in the spring or fall instead of in the summer, especially if we get more seasonal items, like the scarves.

    Thanks again!

  4. Hi Beth,

I can't wait to get my medical bracelet/necklace. I had my eye on it for quite a while. It was one Nina donated. She does beautiful work.

Alexia said she will be mailing out whatever is already paid for on Monday. Everyone should have gotten their invoices, and if anyone has any questions they can email me at staff@dinet.org.

I'm still amazed at all the beautiful things people donated. You guys are so talented. I was showing some of the girls I work with (at the library) the items that had been donated and they just kept going on and on about how nice they were.

    Thank you donors and bidders!

  5. Hi Jane,

You can fill out the request form and we'll send another dozen to you. Hurry though...supplies won't last.

While we're on the topic of brochures, I'd like to send a big thank you out to forum member Gena and Realistic Media for getting the brochures printed at cost. :) They saved us hundreds of dollars.

  6. Thanks for the added ebay tips, Nina!

I just added this info to another post as to why the auction links aren't up yet:

    Hi guys!

You can now vote for your favorite t-shirt! The voting page will be up for a week.

The auction is starting today. The auction links will be added to our website in just a few hours. Keep in mind, we are all on different time zones. The auction is scheduled to start on ebay at 9 am PDT. I will have to go in and manually add a link to each item from our webpage after the auction begins, as only then will I have a page to link to. Please check back for the links on the DINET site at around 11 am PDT. I should be able to add the links in by then.

If you need to convert time from PDT to whatever time zone you are in, you can do it here:

    Thanks for your patience,

    Michelle

  7. Hi guys!

You can now vote for your favorite t-shirt! The voting page will be up for a week.

The items for the auction are now up for bid! www.dinet.org/auction.htm You may need to refresh the page to view the links.

Thanks for all of your help and support in getting this auction underway. I'd especially like to thank Alexia Anastasia and Nina Wilde for their help with the auction. I'd also like to thank Amy Van Der Kamp for her help with the t-shirts!

  8. TMJ goes hand in hand with EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). I have TMJ, but have been lucky in that it hasn't caused me too much pain.

As for mouthpiece's, you could even buy a mouth gaurd at a sporting goods store (usually less than $5) to see if it helps before spending a lot of money. I've been told the generic mouthpieces they sell in drugstores are very similar to the mouth guards you get in a sporting goods store. I don't know if that is true...I've never compared the two.

  9. I take licorice primarily for water retention....otherwise water seems to go right through me. I don't take it every day because it can lower potassium. I usually only take it on the days I work (3-4 days a week). The capsules I take are 450 mg, and I usually take 1-2. I don't know what the recommended dose is for people with low blood pressure & POTS (or if there even is a recommended dose...I've never looked into it). If your going to try it, you really should do so under a doctor's supervision.

I have added a few licorice links to the website for further reading:
