  1. Awwww....so cute. We have a young girl who raises goats up the street from where we live. Her goats are incredibly tame and smart. She has one that she walks on a leash along with her golden retriever. She also has goats that will pull her in a cart up and down the street. She has a lot of fun with those goats. :o

  2. Hi everyone,

As most of you know, we are in the process of creating a documentary about Orthostatic Intolerance. We are filming a Canadian girl, Shannon Donegan, and her mother today. Last night her local news channel found out that she will be featured in our documentary and they came out to film her and run a story about POTS as well! The newscast may only be up for a couple more hours, but for those of you who catch this quick...you can watch it at:

Click on "latest newscast." Shannon's story is about the 6th one in.

  3. Lois, I think it is very kind of you to thank Doctorguest for participating on our forum. As Nina said before, doctorguest truly cares about people with dysautonomia and has freely taken time out from a busy work schedule to share views and opinions here with all of us. We are truly blessed to have this doctor care so much for us.

  4. Hi everyone,

Melissa's mom asks that those of you wishing to send cards mail them to the following address. (The cards will then be delivered to Melissa)

    Melissa Mambort

    4623 Penridge Rd.

    Toledo, OH 43615

There was some confusion earlier as to whether Melissa wanted her last name used on the forum. I have spoken to her about it and she has assured me that it is okay to use her last name.

I know Melissa has been a great help to many of you here on the forum. Let's take this opportunity to show our appreciation of all the good Melissa has done for everyone. It amazes me that she has given so much to others in the midst of her own struggles. She truly is an inspiration.

  5. Hi everyone,

I just got off the phone with Melissa's mom. Melissa is in the hospital again. She went in Monday. She has sepsis and pancreatitis and several other things going on. Her j tube is clogged, so she hasn't had any meds since Monday. She's doing a little better now that she is on antibiotics. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

  6. Just to expand on what Nina said, someone I know and care for dearly also got HPV without ever having sex with the person she got it from. Sorry to be blunt here, but the guy was touching himself and then touching her and that was all it took. I also grew up with a guy who married young, had affairs and brought HPV home to his wife. She died of cervical cancer when she was 25. She left behind three beautiful kids who are now in foster care.

Everyone has to make their own decision regarding this vaccine, but if I had a daughter she would definitely be getting vaccinated.

  7. Hi everyone,

I spoke with Amy last night. She said they think it was her picc line that caused the sepsis. The bacteria is just starting to grow, so soon they will be able to identify what type it is and get her on appropriate antibiotics.

I let her know that you guys are sending get well wishes. Thanks for being so supportive of her.

  8. Hi,

I talked to Melissa this evening. She is still in the hospital, but she is doing a little better. The doctors are still trying to figure out what is going on with her. She says they are not sure she has sepsis this 2nd time...at first they thought she did. They do know there is some kind of underlying infection affecting her. Hopefully she'll be able to get out of the hospital soon. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
