dezyrae2
i wish i knew. I just took wellbutrin xl for a few days and WOW terrible side effects. I dont understand it either but i totally feel for you. Its is very frustrating to try things and they may help one thing but give you other problems and who of us needs that. Well good luck with your meds.
doctorguest
In all likelihood, medication sensitivities and tolerance are the result of a specific genotype. Pharmacogenetics is the field that is currently exploring the relationship between medication sensitivity and response and an individual's genetic makeup. I was told by the colleagues in the field that in the future we may see specific drugs and doses tailored for the specific groups of people. This would be a remarkable advancement in medicine because medications will be individualized according to the patient's genotype rather than "one drug fits all" model that is in place currently and is obviously not working. mkoven
that's interesting. I also have weird reactions--allergic and otherwise to meds. it's gotten worse and more frequent with time.
dsdmom
Doctorguest,I may not understand your reply correctly, but if this is a genotype issue, why would this type of problem only develop when one develops ANS issues? I used to have no problems with drugs - it's only since I've had dysautonomia that that has changed.
