Ssi/ssdi Question

Hi,

SO about a month ago I was told by the hearings office that there was an on the record decision made regarding my claim...However it has been over a month and the SSI office has nothing in their computer system...Has anyone else had the same thing???? I know that On the Record decisions are usually favorable because you don't need a hearing, the judge just looked at medical files and made a decision...So I guess I'm asking how long it has taken others who have gotten approved to get their first check or atleast some notification?!

Thanks!

Jacquie,

I received my first notice of approval in the form of a letter from the Administrative Law Judge at the Office of Hearings and Appeals. About a month after that my first SSDI payment was deposited into my account (I opted for direct deposit instead of a check in the mail).

You said the hearings office told you that a decision was made on your case. Did they inform you in writing or over the phone?

If an official decision was made then the SSA office should have that information on file.

Hope you can get some definitive answers soon.

Rachel
