Jacquie802
I'm curious when you stand up, is a "normal" person's BP supposed to go up??? I know mine always goes down, but I'm just curious what's actually supposed to happen...?!Jacquie

The doctor I saw at Mayoclinic when I received my DX told me that it takes POTS patients 3 times as much energy to stand up as it takes a "normal" person because of all the changes that occur when we stand up BP drops, HR goes up, etc.
stellakitty
I believe that initially a "normal" person's bp drops a few points (not enough to notice), and then their ANS kicks in and gets it back where it belongs. I do know a few "normal" people who become dizzy from standing up too fast, but it subsides rather quickly.
