Brwneyedchica
In the past several months i've had two "incidents" of severe vomiting and diarrhea, kinda like the stomach flu, and I actually had to go and get IV fluids and IV zofran to stop it. The hospital told me that it was the stomach flu, but I think that since it happened twice in the space of several months that it has to have something to do with POTS. Also, in that same time frame i've had several experiences where I will go to eat dinner and feel like I have a serious sensory overload... the lights are too bright, noises too loud and I get awful stomach cramps and diarrhea and usually nausea. That has happened 3 or 4 times in the past month or so, usually when I try and go out and eat or once it was at my boyfriends parent's house. This is so uncomfortable... not to mention embarrassing. I'm planning on calling my GI doc tomorrow and making an appt. I guess my question to you is does this sound familiar? I've always suffered from nausea, but never anything like this.... any comments would be appreciated.
Jacquie802
Hi, I have the same symptoms. When I went to my GI doc. he suspected IBS. The nausea has gotten alot worse so I am thinking about making another apptmt with him. I think the IBS causes the nausea, cramps, etc. and the other symptoms may be the POTS. Poohbear
This could be signs and symptoms of many things. I'm no Dr but I get a lot of what you describe with Migraine Aura and MANY times I never get the "headache" but I get the aura signs. If it has happened twice in a relatively short time span you may want to keep a log of symptoms, days etc. and also track your menstrual cycle....it could be migraine aura related to hormone fluctuation. Richland acres
Sounds like me then i was diagnosed with celiac disease. An allergy to gluten. Might be worth having your gi test you for this.As for the lights yes, when I am flared its definately there and very annoying! I hate it and have yet to find any thing to help it. Its a bummer , but I am glad its not like this all the time, but it is most of the time. I wear sun glasses, not the real dark ones, the ones you can wear on shady days and this does seem to help.Hope you find relief soon! If you do share with us what works, ha.Take care!Brenda

Guest CyberPixie
Yes, twice as a reaction to stress (the violent stomach bug thing). My specialist said it was POTS even though at the time I was sure it was an adrenal crisis. Still not completely sure. But I still have less major stomach upsets most days.
