falling asleep

You should probably check in with your doctor on this issue--it's not a typical POTS issue, and can be a sign of narcolepsy or other neurological issue. Perhaps it just is a unique POTS issue for you, but still, you and your doctor should discuss it.

I have a sleepy time some days and it is usually at dinner time. It is almost impossible to stay awake at that time. Sometimes I actually just give up and take a nap on the couch. If I do stay awake, after about 1 -2 hours, the urge to sleep abates and I can then stay up until normal bedtime. I do not sleep well at night these days and so it may be due to this.
