angelloz
I am doing ok with walking , however I always get an orthostatic headache whenever I am upright for any length of time. Does anyone else get the orthostatic head pain? Any suggestions?
HMB
Hi there, I get these all the time. My neurologist explained that these are a result of the lack of blood making it up from our hearts to our heads/brains. The trapezius muscles and others in the neck/head require blood/oxygen like all other muscles and the pain is caused by the lack of blood flow. I find that my infusions help with to trick the body in terms of blood volume, which helps to get a little more fluid moving around my body and thus, more blood/oxygen to brain and head. bizbiz
Yes, every day when I am in a flare. Usually get worse toward the end of day / longer I am up, always at the back / base of my head and into my neck. I’ve not found anything that helps other than painkillers and going to bed at night to sleep it off.
yogini
If your blood pressure is dropping when standing you can boost ir. Your doctor can best advise you but you can try water and salt and/or compression hose. Compression hose helped when walking and it has the added bonus that you can take it off when you don’t need it.
