cupcakemomma5
I know this is a regular test, but I have never had either done. So I am really scared. I don't know what scares me most, the testing or speaking with the specialist. Sorry, no one at home gets why I am scared. For me the fear of the unknown.....I was given a POTS diagnosis while in hospital for 21 days, due to the rule out of everything else. Let's say I go to this specialist and he turns around and says...ah, you have this and not that, and all this time...I just got my head wrapped around one thing....uuuggghhh.I guess it's the old "waiting for the other shoe to drop" attitude. Thanks for whoever reads this letting me vent.
Racer
I know how you feel, I was scared of the TTT, but especially scared of seeing the results. When I had the test done they went all out to make everything as comfortable, calm, and relaxed as possible. At the end they gave me IV fluids, a soda, and some cookies. Then came the worry of the results as I waited to see my EP. This turned to relief when I finally got a dx. Probably sounds strange, but I was so happy to get a dx that I could have hugged the guy! I went threw many really scary misdiagnoses, a couple fairly bleak, so I was happy to get a solid diagnoses for once.I quote from the book of Harry Potter ( ) “Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”Hope that thru your testing and journey you gain some understanding! looneymom
My son was in the hospital 10 days and this was the last test ran. My son failed this test. My husband and I were very relieved to get some answers. The cardiologist and his staff were great through the whole test. My son was only 11 at the time and was as white as a ghost afterwards. They could not complete the test because of the levels his blood pressure reached. My son has also had the other test when he went to MAYO. MAYO also did another ttt to confirmed the POTS. Hang in there, it will be worth your effort to go through the testing.
