I have a day occ when I feel fine, sleep ok, but can't seem to stop yawning & every time I sit down I get sleepy. This is very annoying. Thanks. Katybug Posted January 14, 2013 Report Share Posted January 14, 2013 I don't think I yawn excessively but I am diagnosed with daytime hypersomnia which means I fall asleep and stay asleep in the daytime much faster and much longer than what is normal for people in my age group. We were concerned I might be narcoleptic but the daytime sleep study ruled that out and proved the hypersomnia dx. I used to suffer with this everyday but now I only have it on my bad POTS days. I'm not sure but I haven't had this symptom in the last few months but prior to I would go all day and I couldn't stop yawning. My family teases me about it. I also get these half yawns, where I start to yawn and I don't have enough breath to finish it. It is one of the most annoying feelings ever! I get weird looks from my teachers and other people because they think I am bored with what they are talking about. I am glad to know that I am not the only one! I mentioned this to one cardiologist who just rolled his eyes and didn't seem to have answers. Interesting to know that this happens to others!!
