SpinnyC
I'm just wondering if anyone knows why some people experience presyncope and others don't. I usually get enough warning that I need to laydown (or at least sit) right away. A few times I haven't had enough time but have at least known what was about to happen- it was just too sudden for me to get to the floor. For some it seems like they are standing one minute and on the ground the next without any warning. Anoj
i am one of those people who has plenty of warning. this can be a good thing for obvious reasons, but i feel that pre-syncope is absolutely torturous. for me, it feels like i'm dying. i liken it to and endless feeling of nausea before you throw up.i seem to recall reading an article that said people faint at different speeds. SpinnyC
Pre syncope is absolutely awful for me too- it's the worst symptom I have. Although I know that hitting the ground is not good or safe- the times it's been very short warning and I didn't have enough time to react were actually better (symptom wise) than the times I've had enough warning to lay down consciously. I know there are different causes for fainting and wondered why two people who have the same condition would faint so differently. Interesting that individually people may faint at different speeds even if the cause of the syncope is the same.
misstraci
I'm not sure the answer to your question but wanted to agree with Anoj, that my pre-syncope feels like I'm dying, needless to say I feel pre-syncope every single day, it's terrible! Anoj
i agree with spinny, that my sudden faints were much more pleasant than the pre-syncope episodes where i don't faint.
McBlonde
When I used to feel like I was fixing to faint and then I WOULD faint if I didn't lie down.... I would feel good when I came back to... Then, I started just having the pre-syncope and not fainting. That feels terrible and a cascade of symptoms follows. I don't why the mechanism changed.
