sonyasmith12
I was currently admitted to hospital with confusion, severe nausea, feeling worse then ever. Sodium level ended up being 128, I was taking florinef and lots of salt and water
anna
Wow so sorry you are having such problems, hope your sodium level is up to more normal limits now!
Lemons2lemonade
wow, that's weird. My sodium levels on florinef skyrocketed out of normal range. I hope you figure it out
WyomingGal
I haven't had my sodium levels tested in over a year...is that okay if you are on florinef? When do you get yours checked?
sonyasmith12
I guess they state we are all prone to low sodium levels if we don't take in adequate amounts of salt compared to fluid intake. It can dilute it too much
mully2014
I take three florinef tabs and I was in the low normal range even with a high sodium diet I would've thought it would've been higher than the results.
brethor9
I have this problem also and take florinef....my last values were 54 and according to my specialist a POTS patient should be over 170......he wants me to get a porta-cath put in for saline infusions. I am trying to put this off as I am not really comfortable with getting one right now I do salt load and fluid load but it just doesn't hold....Bren
Guest Alex
Sonia,I've been on florinef for 1/2 year now and I have my sodium and potassium levels checked periodically, but they're within normal limits (low end for potassium, but still fine). Funny thing is I experimented with the salt intake and have seen NO correlation (absolutely none) between my sodium levels, blood pressure, heart rate, symptoms ...you name it. More than that I had the highest 24h urine sodium number when I had a relatively low (normal) salt intake. Talk about weird...Sorry I can't really help.Bren, I believe you're talking about your urine sodium, a blood sodium of 54 is waaaay too low.The port-a-cath doesn't sound like fun, so I don't blame you, particularly since I remember you tried saline IVs a while ago and they did not really help you... Bummer!WyomingGal,it's not your sodium you should check, but rather your potassium as florinef can deplete it from your body. I take 4800 mg potassium a day with 0.2 mg florinef and barely keep my potassium within normal limits.Best,Alex
