icesktr189
My mom, uncle and now my brother (he was just diagnosed) have ulcertive colits. I just wanted to see how common it is with people who have POTS. My mom has POTS, but my uncle and brother do not... but I was thinking there could be an autoimmune component to it. Maiysa
HI Dani. Sorry to hear about your brother's issue. My son has Chron's, which is in the same category as ulcerative colitis and his doctor says it is an autoimmune disease-or at least Crohn's is. When we call in for my sons medication it is also listed in the autoimmune disease category. I have read that people with Crohn's can develop dysautonomia-I pray for my son's sake, this is not the case. I'm only assuming that ulcerative colitis would be in this category as well. If I come across anything in my books I will let you know. I am always trying to read up on the latest as far as inflammatory bowel disease and it's hard to find a book on just Crohn's as it is always lumped together with ulcerative colitis. Have a good night!

issie
Yeah, I've had it and nearly died from it. I had to do chemo two times because of it. It is no fun at all. The things that helped me to get over it was lots of probiotics and drinking kefir. And using colostrum. This is the most important thing - it really worked. Nothing got me over it until I added that. The doctor said it was the worse case he'd ever seen in his entire career and that I should have been dead. Most people die within two days of having it as bad as I did and that was like by 6th day of having it so bad. (of course, we didn't have insurance and on top of it all I had a ruptured appendix - that they didn't operate on and also got pneumonia - at the same time). I was one sick girl - couldn't walk and could barely crawl. Not at all fun - but, it just made me tough - I guess I'm a survivor.Issie
