HopeSprings
Did the lip biopsy today looking for Sjogrens. I was very nervous about this, but it was quick and easy. My lip is still numb in one spot - hope that's temporary. Should have results within a week or two. Answers would be good, but if not, at least I can check this one off the list. Katybug
Thinking of you...don't really want you to have Sjogren's but would like you to get some good answers... Katie
gertie
Ditto what Katie said. The waiting is always stressful. Hope everything turns out like you want.
futurehope
I thought there was bloodwork they could do to test for Sjogren's? Or maybe the bloodtest just shows general autoimmune disfunction, and then they need to do a biopsy? Im asking because I'm having a rough time of it with my parotid glands (salivary glands) not producing enough saliva. There could be several reasons for this, and Sjogren's is one of them. HopeSprings
Futurehope- apparently blood tests don't always show it - mine didn't. I have a few symptoms - the pattern of my small fiber neuropathy and a very positive Schirmers test which made the Rheumatologist think it was worth probing a little deeper to see if it could be Sjogrens. The lip biopsy is supposedly a pretty good way to find out.
