gertie
Do you know anything about this? Does this mean Parkinson's can be a symptom of Dysautonomia? Thanks.
HopeSprings
I think the connection is that people with Parkinson's often have autonomic symptoms. My stepmother's mother suffered with Parkinson's disease for many years and she tells me that some of my symptoms remind her of her mother. She had problems with low BP and I think OH and was on Florinef for it.
janiedelite
Parkinson's is a type of dysautonomia. The dopamine-producing cells in the brain stop working. Parkinsons patients often have problems with orthostatic hypotension in addition to their other issues. It is classified as a disorder of the autonomic nervous system. issie
My first diagnosis was of Parkinson's. This was wrong and HyperPOTS is the correct diagnosis. I do have tremors and shakes like Parkinson's at times - but when I came off the Parkinson's medicines - I was so much better than on them. I think that the meds for Parkinson's made me worse in the long run.
