gertie
What do you tell your opthamologist when you go for an exam? Do you tell them you have dys? I never seem to get a pair of glasses I can see thru. My vision goes thru so many changes. I tried driving a short distance today & at times I felt my vision was dimming, I couldn't seem to focus. If I don't wear dark glasses the sun hurts my eyes & if I do wear dark glasses I can't see anything. I can't drive when it's raining or overcast because I can't see. I am not comfortable driving but I am forced to at times. Thanks.
MamaTrain
I tried to explain to my eye doc all the problems I was having and he had no clue what dyauto was. My vision changes alot too. I feel like I still cant see like I used to. My night vision is terrible!! Another aspect to living with this ridiculous disorder! :-)KC
tinkerbella
I have a big problem going on with my eyes. I have a retinal cyst in one eye and unbalanced eyes I told the regular eye dr assistant I had pots she wrote everything down. I was going to the specialist retinal dr the next day. She took one look in my right eye and rattled off so many things one being hypo thyroid which I have, another was arteriosclerosis cardiovascular disease was the other so they started testing my cholesterol and everything came back high and critical. So I guess our eyes are the windows to the soul... and so much can happen once they find out you are exercise intolerant. My nero told me people with dysautonomia can have unbalanced eyes, and pupils differences. I'm going back soonest appointment is in June for to see how bad they are and what can be done. I never got to tell her about snow or graying of vision as she was so upset with the tiny blood vessel's in my eye. I also have plugs in my tear ducts and will start restasis in a week. I have different strengths of glasses for different days.I pray our eyes will all be Ok. : )
gertie
Thanks, If I tell them all my problems it seems to overwhelm them & they don't know what to do since they don't know what dys. is.
tinkerbella
make sure you write everything down. at lest the intake person who screened me knows and put it all in my chart. my neuro all said with dysautonomia many things can go on in the eyes.I'm going to start making a list of things like: double vision at times, trailers of movement at times when I move my hands in front of my eyes, lose pieces of vision, reading lines they are not straight, things like that.Bellamia~
gertie
Thanks Bellamia, I always take a list with me to any dr or I would forget why I was there.
