gertie
It looks like I may have to give in & start taking a med to regulate my arrythmia. I've been lucky so far that my heart calms down after a few days but this time is different. I have a dr's app't tomorrow & am wondering what med's some of you are on. From what I have read some of the med's constrict the blood vessels & if they do that will surely trigger migraines. I have enough migraines already. Thanks for your help. Nikki
I take Pindolol to slow down my heart. I have vestibular/basilar type migraines and it doesn't seem like it increased my migraines at all since taking it.
gertie
Thanks Nikki. Do you have high BP?
flop
Some people actually take beta-blockers to prevent migranes. Beta-blockers dilate (widen) blood vessels as well as slowing your heart rate. Because of this you may need to increase your salt & water intake or add a medication like fludrocortisone to keep your BP up.Flop
Chaos
I was given beta blockers for migraines way back in college to help prevent them. Now I'm back on propanalol to control my HR. I've started using Midodrine for the past month and was also worried that I'd start getting more migraines but so far it hasn't increased them. (Not to say I haven't had a couple them, just that it hasn't increased their frequency. )
