cddczmom
I was diagnosed with POTS in April. About 2 years before, I was diagnosed with the West Nile virus and I had a heck of time fighting it. I had meningitis and it took over a year to mostly recover. I was just wondering what role, if any, that might have played in me getting POTS.Has anybody else had West Nile? I wonder if more people have had it and never knew it and now they're dealing with neurological issues (like POTS).Any thoughts? Thanks!!!! sue1234
That's interesting. I've always thought I could get an illness and actually not know it. My already flu-like, lightheaded feelings would mask alot.
Angelika_23
Probably a lot. My POTS started about 6 months after I had viral meningitis. Angela
potsgirl
Hola Fellow Tucsonan~I had just moved here and gotten 'Valley Fever' when I first started to get sick. Please send me a personal message if you'd like to chat, since we're both in the same town!Cheers,Jana
Mrs. Burschman
I think it's pretty common that someone will get sick from a virus or other infection and end up with POTS. That's not my case. Autonomic issues have been creeping up on me since I was a teenager -- for no particular reason. Bleah. West Nile virus is nasty, from what I've heard. I'm glad you made it through, but sorry you got stuck with POTS!Amy
ramakentesh
For me it was abrupt following heavy exercise and a simple cold. But i went overseas before that. I caught a type of hepatitis in mexico last year and that may account for my current relapse.
