kayjay
Has anyone had lots of shedding from klonopin... or after a bad flare? It makes sense that the adrenal surges that make you think you are a goner would make your hair fall out.. but is taking the klonopin making it worse? Elfie
I don't know about the klonopin, but the hair loss is the pits! I think that it definitely has something to do with how POTs patients' bodies deal with stress. When I am run down or under stress I will start losing large amounts of hair. Then it takes it forever to grow back. Just when my head is starting to look less BALDING!!!! the cycle starts again. It always, always has to do with stress-induced symptomatic periods of my life though.
jenwic
I'm not on klonopin, but I have noticed my hair is getting thinner. I lose a lot of hair every time I wash it. I thought maybe it was the florinef.
flop
I've not heard of either florinef or klonopin causing hair loss, however it is recognised that hair loss can be caused by stress or illness. There are a few minerals/supplements that can help with hair growth, off the top of my head I think that kelp (seaweed - rich in iodine) and magnesium were two of the main ones. (Sorry I would normally look it up on my lovely drugs / herbs / vitamins book but all my stuff is in storage at the moment, if I get a chance I will do an internet search).Flop
flop
This article from the BBC website has a good explanation of the stress related hair loss.Flop
Dawg Tired
Ugh... I lose so much other people actually complain about my hair being everywhere. I cringe when some unkind %&*#@!*@ comes up to me and hands me several strands of hair and gives me a hateful "Here, this is YOURS!" like I can glue it back on or something. I have even cut my hair short and it is still very pronounced. Kind of like I leave a trail of shed hair behind me.
kayjay
thanks for the info Flop. I would love to know about suppliments that might help.... I also wonder how many of you have hyperadrenic POTS. I do. I have had a really sick year and feel sad when I see my hair ALL over the house. I did cut it shorter but I used to like my hair. Now it just is thin and sad!
