gertie
I can't find aspirin on the list of things that help & wonder if any of you can take aspirin. I was told to take a low dose to help prevent strokes. I used to take it many years ago but developed an allergy to it after dysa. I'm wondering if I could start with a tiny dose & possibly get where I can take it again but thought I would see how others handle it. thanks. Heiferly
I take a baby aspirin every day since I started in with the POTS. Haven't had any problems with it, so can't really advise on what to do in your circumstance. What type of allergic reaction do you have with it? A rash or something more severe? Please be careful and don't make yourself sick if you've got a bad allergy! HUGS!!
gertie
Thanks for your reply. My reaction to aspirin has been quite severe or to me it is. I feel like my lungs are on fire & I can't breathe. I've had that type reaction from some foods as well. It's very scarey.
kayjay
Please only take it under the care of a good allergist. My POTS has been made more severe by drug allergy reactions. I cannot take NSAIDS at all and I am going to the allergist on Monday to find out if i can take Alive. My drug reactions in the past led me to the hospital and I had hives for weeks. GOOD LUCK
ajw4790
Hi,If you developed a true allergy and not side effects or a sensitivity to the drug then I would think that you are likely still allergic, and the dose is not likely to matter. I would not risk the chance of having a severe allergic reaction. I would consult with a doctor that will listen and take the matter seriously and give you an educated response. If they seem to not listen or brush off your question, you may want to seek a different opinion. If you have an allergy to something it is not worth going into anaphalactic shock to just take low dose asprin.Hope that helps!

Rachel
I have been taking a baby aspirin for a couple of months now due to some pregnancy complications. Everything is okay now, my doctor just wants me on a baby aspirin for the remainder of my pregnancy. The aspirin hasn't changed anything with POTS for me - no good effects, no bad effects.Rachel
