pat57 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Starting in the AM, for Depression. Hoping it doesn't rock my fragile boat. That is physically, I'm doing well but , once false move and I could be in deep water. Quote
firewatcher Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Depending on your reaction: hypotension, etc. it could be a good or REALLY bad thing. My endo recommended it and I called my ANS doc at Vanderbilt who said NO WAY!!!!!! It INCREASES the length of time norepinephrine stays active in your system, so it could make everything worse, or better if you are norepinephrine deficient. Be very careful!!!!! and take it slow! Rachel Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I hope this goes well for you. Do you have someone to call who can come and help you if the side effects are too much?Hang in there,Rachel Quote
ramakentesh Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 This is an area of contention. If POTS is indeed caused by impaired reuptake of norepinephrine this drug may result in a significant increase in your POTS symptoms because it will further inhibit the reuptake of norepinephrine. However, SNRIs in a recent study improved syncope and presyncope in a POTS patient (NET inhibition) which confuses the issue.Either way, tread with caution and let us know how you go. Quote
