Ernie
Hi,Beta blockers
bjt22
I understand. As Ernie said, beta blockers can help with tremors. The shakiness, overall weakness, though, is a problem, isn't it? Its where I'm at a good portion of the time. I can't offer much, but when I started taking Mestinon a few months ago, I think these symptoms were helped somewhat. summer
Hi Mary,I agree. Beta blockers have helped a lot with the tremor but probably not much with the weakness or fatigue. Infact, initially the fatigue was worse, but over a couple of weeks returned to the usual level of fatigue (which is pretty bad).Summer
firewatcher
Beta blockers have helped me tremendously! I could not work for nine months because of the tremor, it was very frustrating. It is almost completely under control now on Inderal. It did not do anything for the fatigue though. Jennifer

bjt22
Just wanted to add that in addition to a beta blocker and mestinon, Catapres has helped me a great deal, too. I realized how much it helped with these symptoms a few years ago when we tried to reduce the dosage...not good. Not good at all.
turtlefairy5
What is Catapres?
maryfw
I have NCS and when I spoke to the nurse she told me to see my PCP. She said it wouldnt be the NCS because it is consistent, not just a "spell". I still think it could be my NCS but I will go see my PCP and see what he says. He will probably say what he always says, hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Got to love it.mary
jbrian00
I'm just interested in what type of tremors you are referring to?
maryfw
Just shaky. You know when you reach for something and people comment that your hands are shaking.mary
jbrian00
Oh I've had those during my "heart surge" episodes I guess is what I call them, where my heart will randomly race ~160bpm, even if just relaxing on the couch. I will start shaking uncontrollably. Not sure if it is dysautonomia causing the shaking or if it's my anxiety that my heart is racing so fast. Other than those episodes, though, I don't have these tremors. And they have stopped after taking Klonopin and Cymbalta.James
