  1. Dizziness and nausea are both equally my worst
  2. I'm on midodrine and I notice my heartrate is sometimes in the 40's but my doctors don't seem too concerned about it. When I notice it's low, I just try and stand up or something cause then it usually gets to at least 100.
  3. Hi- I had it done as part of some research I particiapated in. I had some uncomfortable sensations for the rest of that day but then was all back to normal for me. I've been told they could last a week or so but there are no lasting effects.
  4. I'm about to start the process too. I'm a little clueless too, but will keep you updated when I find things out.
  5. Hi- I have been experiencing a sudden spinning sensation for awhile, it's been over a year now. It's such an awful symptom as I never know when it's going to come on and I don't have to do anything to provoke it. It is what keeps me from driving and is very frustrating. I've seen an ENT dr who did lots of vestibular testing and I even went to vestibular rehab which was a waste of my time as they now do not believe this dizziness is caused by the inner ear for me.....they think it's probably neurological but nothing has helped. I find myself to be dizzy most of the time, sometimes it's a rocking sensation as if I'm on a boat and other times its spinning. Sometimes it comes and goes quickly and other times I find myself laying down for hours without being able to stand up. It's not a fun experience, especially when you don't do anything to provoke it. At least when we were little, we would know why we had this feeling from spinning around to bring this feeling on. You are not alone.....I feel like I am drunk most of the time when I haven't had an alcoholic beverage in ages.
  6. Hi- I have been having intermittent abdominal pain on my right side since all my symptoms started back in 2004. It is kind of high up and at times very severe. I have seen a couple of GI drs and have had lots of MRI's CT scans, GI series and endoscopies but no one can figure it out or piece it together with the rest of my symptoms. (well, my neuro doesn't seem at all interested in this symptom). It's always in the same place and I'm so sick of it. I believe there has to be a reason for it and think it has to be tied in with the rest of my symptoms somehow.
  7. Hi, I also have been experiencing excessive thirst- it started about 6 or 7 years ago. I was tested for diabetes and everything, always negative and was told that it was probably just in my head..so frustrating! Then almost 2 years ago, I was suddenly hit with a whole bunch of new symptoms. That is when I was diagnosed with autonomic dysfunction and POTS. I still suffer from extreme thirst at times which is such an uncomfortable feeling and keep thinking that it must be tied in here somewhere. I take a lot of salt tablets and can tolerate it pretty well (well, my nausea and vomiting pattern hasn't changed since I've started taking them or anything). I've had to do a lot of 24-hour urine studies and my docs have been concerned with the amount of urine, but they just attribute it to how much I drink...even though I really can't help how much I drink. When I'm thirsty and don't drink I have difficulty processing my thoughts and I wake up every morning feeling extremely dehydrated. But, I canrelate to most of your symptoms.
  8. I try to eat lots of soup and high sodium foods, and my doctor also has me taking up to 10 grams of salt pills a day.
  9. Thanks for everyones responses so far. I just had no idea what to expect. I was 24 and hit with all this so suddenly and was working full time and going to grad school at the time. At first I was trying to push myself and was working off and on but after a month of that I had to stop work and school completely. I wish I could get back to things at least part time, but besides standing being an issue I can barely handle car rides with out vomiting now (never mind actually driving) and I have difficulty reading due to constant dizziness which is keeping me from school. It seems as if I'm going to have to start the SS disability process.
  10. Hi- They tried me on Inderal, 20mg 4 times a day. I just want to say be careful as I had my first bad reaction to a drug with it. Although no one will say for sure that this is what caused it, they blame the Inderal. Almost a month after I began taking it, my platelet count dropped to a dangerously low level. I had to stop taking the medication and it went back up. I hope you have a better experience than me!
  11. Hi- I have been out of work for well over a year now. I have been diagnosed with POTS but am not sure if that is the only thing going on with me since I seem to have so many seemingly unrelated symptoms. Is POTS itself enough to make someone disabled. I'm so frustrated and don't know what else to do, and trying to figure out if I should try and more actively pursue my doctors to see if there is something else going on with me because even with the symptomatic traetment I am on, I'm still barely able to function.
