  1. Hi, I always have a huge blood pressure drop after surgery. I assume it's due to the anesthesia(sp?). Usually a day or 2 after I feel fine....Well, most of the time.....I had an EP Study Sept. 26 and Sept. 28 I was rushed to the hospital with tachy and bp probs......I would prefer to have the surgery at a hospital though, rather than an office. Good Luck and keep us updated.

  2. Hi, I usually get numbness in my arms and legs, esp when I wake up in the morning. Do others feel like their legs are heavy when they wake up in the am? I don''t think blood could pool in my legs while I am sleeping since I am laying horizontal?! Anyhow I have been in bed for the past hour trying to get up since I feel dizzy and am not sure my legs are going to hold me up!!!!!

Oh I also posted that I had some vestibular testing done, there was another member here who suffers ear problems. Anyhow I fell 3 out of 8 times on the posturography... I go to my otoneurologist Wed. so maybe we can figure out which is making me dizzier...POTS, Vestibular Hypofunction, or BOTH! I go for another tilt table next Monday, so we'll see! Take care everyone!

  3. What helps with nausea, besides getting a prescriptions for something. I do not like to take meds lol and I keep getting horrible stomach aches esp. when I am in stores, etc. I think the dizziness brings them on or something. Even today though I haven't been to any stores, etc and have a horrible stomach ache. Thanks for help

  4. Hi, I have a few different arrhythmia's going on. I am on TOprol but it doesnt work too well but they cant increase the dose because of my low bp. When i dont take the Toprol I get very sick so I guess it's somewhat doing its job! When my heartrate jumps to the 190's I literally splash very very ice cold water on my face. If its the sinus tach that works, however with some of the other heart rhythms I have it doesnt do a thing. i have noticed that my worse symptoms of tachy seem to happen right when I wake up in the am. I dont knwo if it is because of my bp being so low in the am, but that is when I really feel like i am not going to make it. Now the first thing I do in the am is have 2 large glasses of cold water, not the most "comforting" thing to do in the am but it really does help, so I deal with it!

  5. Does anyone get severe dizziness/vertigo episodes while they are in stores, etc. I notice that everytime I go into a store I get nausea and vertigo to the point I feel like I am going to fall or faint. Just a few minutes ago I went into the movie store to rent a movie and I felt like the floor was slanted and I just wanted to throw up or pass out. What helps with this?? Any idea, etc. is GREATLY appreciated. I missed tonight's Celtics game ($750.00 seat) because of this dizziness. : (

  6. Having heart arrhythmias, vestibular hypofunction, AND POTS (nothing else I know about lol) I experience lots of symptoms like...

    dizziness

    vertigo

    tachycardia

    pvc's

    sweating-even in cold weather

    pallor

    lightheadedness

    numbing in legs and arms

    headaches

    FATIGUE

    disequilibrium

    blurred vision

    hypotension

    nausea

Hopefully no other symptoms find me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I'm not sure where you are from but in Massachusetts the same thing would have happened to me, 21 year old female. I don't drink due to my blood pressure, heart condition, and POTS. Actually for my 21st birthday I sat being the only sober one. My doctor told me that alcohol dilates your veins, making your bp even lower, so I decide to stay away from all that alcohol....seems like it only gets people into trouble!!! Anyhow good luck with court and such, take care.

  8. You have given me hope and thank you! The docs seem to think i got this from a viral infection in 2003. It seems like the symptoms are getting worse as time goes on, is that normal??? I wish everyone could walk away from POTS and get better. I cant imagine how 9 years of POTS has left you feeling. My "friend" sent me a nasty email saying that nothing is wrong with me, I have no future, etc. Funny thing is she is premed, with no bedside manners whatsoever good luck to her cuz she wont last long....sorry had to vent about that!! But seriously this board has helped me through looong horrible days/nights. Thanks to everyone for being here! If I get better I am not going to forget you guys here, I promise!

  9. HI I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBS. HOWEVER I HAVE TO TAKE A HIGH DOSE OF A BETA BLOCKER OR ELSE I AM IN THE ER. THEY HAD ME ON FLORINEF FOR A WHILE WHILE I WAS TAKIN BETA BLOCKERS BUT I HAD TO DISCONTINUE DUE TO SEVERE HEADACHES. DRINK LOTS OF WATER, ETC. AND TRY NOT TO HAVE YOUR HEAT ON TOO HIGH, I NOTICE MY TACHY GETS ALOT WORSE IN TEH SUMMER AND ALSO WHEN ITS TOO WARM IN HOUSES IN THE WINTER. ALSO I HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST, MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK INTO SEEING ONE! FEEL BETTER SOON!

  10. Hi, i HAVE HAD 2 ABLATIONS AND 3 EP STUDY'S. MY PROBLEM IS IN THE SA NODE, SO THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT WOULD TO PUT IN A PACEMAKER. I DECIDED AGAINST THAT, HOPING I GET BETTER WITHIN TIME, BECAUSE ONCE YOU HAVE A PACEMAKER PUT INTHERE IS NO GOING BACK. DO THEY THINK YOU HAVE IST, INNAPROPRIATE SINUS TACHYCARDIA? HEARD THIS CAN BE COMMON IF YOU HAVE POTS. TAKE CARE AND I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON! OH, ALSO DID THEY GIVE U BETA BLOCKERS TO TAKE POST OP??? SOMETIMES AFTER AN ABLATION YOUR HEART HAS SPELLS OF TACHY BUT THEY SHOULDNT BE AS SEVERE OR LAST AS LONG.

  11. Thank you all for your support and kind words. It's hard to not get caught up in the moment sometimes. I really hate feeling bad for myself. I just wish there was one perfect treatment for everyone. Sometimes it makes it worse to be honest that one day I am going to feel good then all of a sudden I am having a bad day. That's the hard part for me...it's almost like some game your body is playing with you. Usually on the good days I am soo tired that I still dont do much. Since once and a great while there is a good day i think that is why my family has a hard time understanding this whole thing. I gave them all the brochures i got from this website to look at and not one took one they just put it back down on the table. Thats life i guess....Again thanks for being here!

  12. Hi, my cardiologist actually told me to take the BB at night since I get dizzy from them. Sometimes i forget to take them at night and wake up with racing heart so i take it then. Lately i have been tryin not to take it so late at night. Its Toprol XL which is sustained release so does it really matter when I take it if its constantly in my body??? Oh also i take the Toprol XL and i have a script for metoprolol which is the same thing except it isnt time released. my cardiologist told me to take metoprolol when i get the tachy bouts cuz that will work faster, im concerned about my bp becoming even lower since i will be takin a higher dose while im on both. Has anyone gotten this info before? He said i could also just switch to metoprolol two times a day but the prob with that is when im like an hour or two late takin my torprol my heart rate jumps, so i dont kow if metoprolol would benefit me the whole day...hmmm any opiinions, etc are welcome! thanks guys!
