  1. Does anyone else get these strange episodes were you flush and just get this weird feeling all over your body sometimes shaky and you get dizzy and this weakness and sometimes itchiness with it. I also notice when this happens my blood pressure normally is lower and the omron will register an irregular heartbeat symbol. If you do how long does it last and what helps it get better?
  2. Definitely want to bring up saline treatments at my next appointment. Don't know why doctors have such an issue with it. It seems they have no problem prescribing meds like candy but have an issue prescribing salt water fluids?
  3. How long did you stick to it though? It takes about 3 months to start to see change. And you have to avoid anything processed or genetically modified as well and just eat plain lean meats that are antibiotic and hormone free.
  4. Cut out all wheat and diary and all GMOs. Try Apple Cider Vinegar the raw unfiltered one with the mother.1 Tbs in water daily and drink pure green team I have been doing all of this and my pain has gotten dramatically better unless I have a trigger like that time of the month or I'm sick. Which me and my daughter are now
  5. Not sure if I have an underlying cause yet I want to look into mast cell activation as I seem to have some symptoms of that
  6. Prior to pots I had a very physical job and be on my feet for 10hrs straight then go out all night dancing with no problem. Now developing the pots from child birth I cannot do either or those things and get winded and short of breath doing simple around the house chores. What your saying does make sense though because I was pregnant for 9 months and didn't do much the last 3 months (was getting mild symptoms then) and then was almost bed ridden the first 3 months post partum, so I'm sure my body is deconditioned. I didn't work the first 4months and am finally back to working bit part time hours at a wayyy less physical job and its still tough at times. I'm worried if I start an exercise plan I'll be bedridden again and unable to work again as my family needs my source of income. I will have to start of very slow and build up.
  7. My pulse pressure sitting will be in the high 20s to mid thirties I don't even know what it is standing my omron will never register my bp while standing. I've been reading that many pots people have low pulse pressure due to low blood volume and I defintely notice that I feel worse when its lower and better when its in the high 30s
  8. What's your exercise plan if you don't mind my asking? I really need to start just worried about it making me feel way worse even though I know it would probably be just initially and then help me improve.
  9. So refreshing to see people with great improvement/recovery
  10. I'm with you gjensen! I accuired mine either during very end of pregnancy or upon giving birth 6 months ago and I WILL get better!
  11. What's everyone's pulse pressure (difference between systolic and diastolic numbers) and does yours fluctuate quite a bit?
  12. Sir digby, the Dr told me that there are selective and non selective beta blockers and that selective only block b1 receptors while non selective block both b1 and b2 receptors receptors. B1 receptors are specific to cardiovascular while b2 are not. I was on a non selective beta blocker which is the older class of bets blockers so they have more side effects and block b2 receptors which causes vasoconstriction to the blood vessels including in your lungs and this can make it harder to breath especially if you already have somthinf like cipd or asthma(which I don't) It would be worth it to see what kind of beta blocker you are on. If its non selective see if they can switch you to selective that only does b1 blocker or try to wean off it altogether and see if it helps you. It certainly helped me I don't wake up anymore with my heart racing short of breath.
  13. Sorry meant Mcad autocorrect lol
  14. Hey guys can anyone tell me their symptoms of McAllen and the testing they did for diagnosis? I'm sorry but I do not know of a support group
  15. My bp fluctuates quite a bit on flares and days I am feeling not great. Atleast if its low you can eat a real salty snack and drink a lot of fluid but the extreme high is more of a problem.
  16. Yes sir digby my breathing problems and waking in the middle of the night catching my breath with my heart racing did stop after I stopped the beta bloker and I also sleep better too. My lungs have been checked for asthma and other problems as well and I had none.this started after I started the beta blocker and stopped after I got off. Sorry sir digby you are also who I meant to ask if you were on a betablocker.
  17. This was going on with me since I gave birth to my 2nd child in June I started off with extremely high blood pressure I mean dangerous to the point of stroke at any moment it was 181/132 and stayed consistently high even on meds but suddenly it would fluctuate dramatically I mean 160/110 to 80/56 and like you said you can definitely feel it. After 2 months of that it finally has stabilized to normal bp unless I get a trigger like when I got sick or during my period. I wish I had an answer for you on how to control the fluctuating bp but I don't may I ask what your other symptoms are? I had carcinoid cancer in 2008 which mirrors pots symptoms so just wanted to see if you were having symptoms of it particularly flushing and diarrhea which are hallmark symptoms of carcinoid as well as elevated hr and bp issues. My tilt test was frustrating as my hr jumped 40 beats initially but started doind fluctuations as yours is as well he gave me a borderline pots diagnosis and says I definitely have some sort of autonomic dysfunction.
  18. I also sleep better now could not sleep on it
  19. Sir Digby , yes it did after stopping the beta blocker I haven't been short of breath unless I really exert myself due to the high hr from exerting myself and have not waken up in the middle of the night short of breath with my heart racing once. I was only on it for 6 weeks and it took a month to wean off just cut the pill in half took for a week then quarter for a week and then half of the quarter lol amazing I was able to cut it that small. I never had those issues till I started the beta blocker and then they stopped after I got off. My lungs were tested for asthma and other lung problems as well and all was fine it was from the beta blocker.
  20. Yes I guess from your symptoms I am experiencing the dizziness/lightheadedness lately I definitely do get foggy head where it's hard to concentrate sometimes as well and also get that same feeling while I'm dizzy only sometimes when its hard to concentrate I don't feel like I might pass out but at times when I do feel that way I guess the dizzyness is mixed with it. No I do not wear compression stockings but do make sure I am always well hydrated and eat salt accordingly if I need to. No meds for now I have completely changed my whole lifestyle and it has helped. I no longer eat any processed or GMO food and cutt out wheat, dairy, peanuts, soy and egg as I tested positive for allergies so I eat a lot more fruits and veggies. I also drink fresh brewed pure green tea every morning and have 1 1/2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar every other day. I have been on this routine for months and have been able to function much better I still get elevated hr standing of course but my all over body pain has decreased and energy level and physical tolerance has increased. But suddenly the last few days I'm feeling blah again. Not sure why not sick and not due for my monthly cycles for 10 days usually don't start to feel worse until a couple days before and then during. I struggle with headaches a lot though. I also seem to notice getting worse head a headaches and body pain wn with weather changes. Thanks for the support guys.
  21. I am new to pots and am finding a hard time sometimes telling the difference between a brainfog and actual dizziness/lightheadedness. For instance right now my bp is good and hr not too bad but my head feels so lightheaded and foggy. I mean is brainfog just another name for actual dizziness or is it completely different altogether? I had been doing a lot better for a couple of weeks but now the last couple of days I have been itchy all over(without hives) and having major lightheadedness/brain fog. Does any one have any tips for combating the 2?
  22. Gjensen are you on a beta blocker? If so that could be part of the problem. I was on propranolol and the same thing was happening to me in the middle of the night. I was prescribed it for headaches by a neurologist and for high bp originally before they found out it was pots. A pulmonologist told me beta blockers are known for causing breathing difficulties and my cardiologist said the propranolol is one of the older beta blockers and has more side effects. Not sure if your on beta blockers but if you are maybe its contributing to to your breathing problems at night and you may need to lower the dose or try a different one. Also I believe they are known to cause insomnia at least I know propranolol can as I could not sleep and be up for days on it.
