  1. I have been feeling worse this week. my back has been aching this week, also my brain fog is terrible. It is worse than usual!! I tried eating a ramen for lunch but it didn't help. I am very forgetful. I am just so so so so so so so spacey. I am only 22 and I hate feeling like this. I am so out of it. Plus I can't knit for long anymore. today I was knitting and I guess I might have been gripping the needles too hard and my hand got pins and needles and I had to stop. also I hhavent been able to exercise much. I hate feeling spacey. also a weird thing is happening I am hot and cold and my right cheek has a big red circle and its hot. im cold but im also hot. its strange. anyone have suggestions on what helps your brain fog?
  2. You will get used to them!! beta blockers may lower blood pressure. Maybe check your blood pressure next time you feel dizzy. if your blood pressure is low maybe try eating something with salt and drinking some Gatorade for electorlytes. If you really don't feel well try having a ramen for lunch they are loaded with salt. you will feel better all people are different when they adjust to meds. if you don't feel better soon maybe you could talk to your doctor about switching meds. Hang in there!!
  3. I always have brain fog non stop. it happens 24/7 where I feel like I am in a dream and cant wake up. anxiety doesn't help the matter. I have anxiety issues and having brain fog gets me more anxious which causes more brain fog because im thinking about it too much. I get so scared that one day I am going to go crazy or go into a deep depression. I do not have depression problems but ever since I ended school I have been feeling depressed because I am not on a constant schedule. I have been feeling hot and cold off and on the past couple days my brain fog has been severe. I am now getting heat flashes this past 2 weeks. idk if its because I am due for my monthly friend today but I am usually a week late so my symptoms vary. but I am hot and cold severe brain fog, feeling depressed like my life is going knowwhere. can anxiety make dysautonomia worse? I get so nervous going to stores or anywhere with people. school was fine because I got used to that. if I get anxiety in a store I get so lightheaded I have to get out because im afraid im going to pass out. it never happened but it worries me. also I feel depressed because of not being able to go into a store that I will never be able to get a job, get a date, go on dates you get the drift. the store and dates are two separate things. I can't go to a therapist because it costs money and I have already been to them in the past. I still live at home and I don't have friends. I have one but I cant see her every day only every couple of weeks because she has a life unlike me she lives on her own drives and has a job. I just wish I can do those things. I just need to get over my anxiety. how do you all cope? im so stressed. right now I feel real hot my ears and nose are red and brain og and feeling a little depressed.
  4. Thanks!! yes I have had a few king of hearts monthly monitors in the past and I have a 24 hour holter once a year. and I have a cardiologist appointment in January. all my life I have gone every 6 months but I started atenolol in the beginning of November so my heart wouldn't work so hard so he wanted to see me again in 3 months to see how im doing. so I really shouldn't be having these symptoms while on it. and thanks again
  5. For the past two weeks I have been having more palpatations like one or more everyday. I usually have one every so often. Pus I have never had problems with tachycardia but I have been having some heart racing lately. and my left eye has been twitching for the past 3 days. anyone else have symptoms like these? also I was dizzy earlier and now im super tired. I don't know if its from the kerosene heater mom had out in the garage. she was in the garage all day today cleaning with he kerosene heater and I have been smelling it in the kitchen all day. but I don't think that is the cause. anyone experience similar symptoms?
  6. I take really hot showers every morning. I usually take a 20 minute shower because its relaxing. But then I don't feel right afterwards. Like now I took one after 9 this morning and now I am lightheaded. This past week I have been having weird heart palpatations and fluttering and racing heart. I am on atenolol so t hat should stop those symptoms I have been on atenolol for a month or two now. I havnet had t hese problems in a long time. On Friday November 22nd I was lying in bed t hen I felt my heart beat strong and I felt it beat in my ear as well. Then Saturday morning I was in the shower and felt my heart beat strong and race. Then Saturday night I was trying to open the dang jelly and when I was using my strength to get it open I had a heart palpitation. Then last night I was lying in bed and I felt my heart kind of drop then flutter not the usual palpitations that I used to get. I have also been very forgetful this past two weeks and fuzzy. Im scared because my Grandma said that one of these days I am going to keel over in the shower. ( Note: she worries a lot ). But my other grandpas wifes son died in the shower with a heart attack. So im kind of nervous. Its weird I do not l ike luke warm or cold showers. but I guess I will have to make a adjustment. Does any one else get these symptoms?
  7. today and yesterday and the past week (im still feeling disoriented but this is a different feeling) my brain has been feeling fuzzy. like just spaced out and weird. like I also keep forgetting things and not paying attention as much and daydreaming a lot more. and my left han d is losing feeling. like its not numb but it feels light and lfoaty while my right hand feels heavy. its weird. idk if its the snow storm coming tomorrow and Wednesday or nto. I just feel so lightheaded and my head feels weird and fuzzy like I cant think straight or anything. like just really spaced out. its concerning me. has anyone else expeireinced this and if so what helped for you ?
  8. I don't know if it affects dysautonomia or not but artificial sweetners in my opinion is bad for anyone. The affect on me is they cause me to be more cranky anxious and agitated and sometimes I think lightheaded. when I was dieting I was eating those Hormel shelve packaged dinners the Hormel compleats and I was very cranky and wasn't in a good space and when I stopped I felt better with the crankiness and stuff. but I still have symptoms of dysautonomia.
  9. I know this may seem weird but lately I have been having problems with sense of touch. my left hand and arm feels iwerd off and on and yesterday and today it feels light floaty like im losing feeling and othertiems it feels heavy like something is on it. its strange. I do have raynauds. idk. its kind of concerning. I was doing push ups and planks yesterday so it may be from that this time. anyone else have similar symptoms?
  10. oh my gosh yes. I cant play most 3d games where you walk around or race. I get so dizzy. I remember one time when I was younger I was at a arcade and went in the racing car seat game where it makes u feel like your in an racecar and played the game I had to be carried out of the arcade I felt so sick. it will go away though.
  11. Ok so a couple years ago I was diagnosed with raynauds. Lately after starting atenolol a month or two ago my toes get really itchy and underneath the toenail it gets red and bumpy. We looked it up and it looks like I am getting chilblains. anyone else get those with dysautnomia? I also have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and It could also be from that. if anyone else has had these experiences how do you deal with the itching?
  12. Has anyone else experienced this? ever since my shower this morning on my right hand my fingertips have been tingling all day. now all of a sudden all my arm up to my armpit feels tingly and stiff. its so uncomfortable!!! I have never had this happen.
  13. I'm feeling really odd. I feel disoriented. I also feel weird and floaty idk why. Sometimes my body either feels heavy and other times it feels light and floaty. I always feel more disoriented in winter. I don't know why. Is there a lot of air pressure now and in winter? I don't feel right a lot . It's really frustrating. My asthma is acting up as well the past 2 weeks. It is really bad last night and today. I was lying in bed at 11 pm last night and I kept coughing and I felt like a lump was in the bottom of my throat at the top of my chest and I felt like I was having trouble breathing. I took my inhaler but that feeling scared me so much that I got worked up which made it worse. I started shaking and sweating but after I calmed down I finally managed to get asthma under control and finally fell asleep around 3 am. It was acting up again today not as bad but ive been coughin a lot now my voice is hoarse. I hate hate hate feeling disoriented all the time. the weather doesn't help winter I feel more disoriented. I hate it so much. what helps brain fog and feeling disoriented? I can't snap out of it. im sorry if I keep posting the disoriented feeling but it scares me.
  14. For the past hour my right shoulder when I move it it feels like there is abug biting it and it feels like something is pinching it and when I move it feels like the pinch is arubber band and when my shoulder moves the rubberbadn feeling stretches with the pinch. its weird. am I making sense? what is wrong with it?
  15. Thanks it got better after relaxing. I got scared when it first started which made me worse so after I calmed down it went away
  16. ok I was lying in bed and I feel like there is a lump a the bottom of my throat and chest. I cant stop coughing from my asthma. I did my rescue in haler didn't work. I cant sleep cause of it I feel like I cant breath I started shaking and sweating. the shaking and sweating calmed down a bit but my breathing is still not good. idk what to do. im scared.
  17. NO they don't. They can mask the symptoms though. Now some SSRI's can cause hypoglycemia so you have to be careful. I never had hypoglycemia before until a couple years ago when I started Celexa. I didn't realize until a couple years later that the medication was causing it so we stopped it and now I don't have hypoglycemia anymore. Now I read that your on Zoloft and I looked it up and Zoloft can cause it. here is the link to it read the last paragraph. it wont let me copy and paste so I will write it down just copy and paste what I wrote down into the url. http://www.healthcentral.com/diabetes/c/110/145291/hypoglycemia-occur/
  18. I am not sure what affects me the most. I know when its raining or wintery I don't feel right I get super out of it and I just feel lethargic. Like its supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow and before a storm or rain or snow I feel really out of it. LIke this past couple of weeks I just feel so tired worn down and disoriented. does anyone have any ideas for what helps feeling disoriented? I feel like that non stop for most of my life. My anxiety is getting much much worse because I ended my school on august 23rd and it was a boarding school and I was used to the schedule and at home I don't have friends so I am inside like all day and when I do go out I get worse out of it and I cant go anywhere new or I get anxious and I can't deal with crowds. like the other day I was heading out to the dollar tree and it was packed th ere was a person down every isle and a kid was crying so I got more overwhelmed so I just ran out of there. I never got anxious in the car but now that suddenly is starting. idk. I just feel down I hate my anxiety so much and not feeling right like feeling disoriented makes it worse. I wish I had friends at home to hang out with that understood how I feel and stuff. Also I was wondering does anyone elses hands turn different colors? for the longest time my nailbeds turn blue and coldl and my right hand always turns a bluish gray color up to my elbow. I have raynauds but my hand never used to turn colors on ly my nails. Advice would be great. Thanks!!
  19. Do you take celexa? I had hypoglycemia for a couple years it started when I started celexa and I ended celexa last year and I don't have hypoglycemia anymore. what I find that helped was with every meal have at least 15 grams of carbs and definelty have protein. protein will slow down the sugar from leaving your body. Every night I would eat a slice of wheat bread with peanut butter or a piece of lunch meat and a glass of milk. To help reduce sugar crashes in the night eat an apple or half a lunch meat sandwhich or have an apple and peanut butter and always have a glass of milk before bed that will keep you from crashing. also don't eat really high sugary things that can make u crash. if u do have protein with it. don't drink juices unless your blood sugar is low. juices make u crash very quickly.
  20. im having trouble eating this evening. It started during dinner. I was eating I don't know if I was eating fast probably but idk and I felt like it was getting stuck in my chest. I was afraid of choking but it wasn't in my throat it was stuck in my chest. and I felt like It was trying to come up but I swallowed a bunch of water but I still felt like it was stuck then I started to panic I started shaking and I kept drinking and I tried to eat more but it kept getting stuck in my chest. I couldn't even finish my dinner and it was my favorite meal chicken pot pie. it finally felt better but then I went to eat pumpkin pie and I had a little trouble eating it and then now I just had my snack a slice of bread with goober and It kept getting stuck in my chest and now I keep burping but the food starts to come up then I go to swallow it down but then I keep burping and it is so uncomfortable now it feels like there is a big bubble in my chest and when I try to burp its just the food that starts to come up. its so uncomfortable. what is go ign on here and what are some things to help? I had heartburn took tums and that helped the heartburn but my chest is so uncomfortable. I am 22
  21. I live in south central pa and I do not know of anyone with dysautonomia who lives in pa. its hard to find friends that understand me and my condition.
  22. A lot of times I feel like my eyes are strained. If I look at the sun and look away I see spots for a while. but I think that part is for everyone. The weird thing with me is that Its really uncomfortable for me is when I am reading books and there are pages with red my eyes go weird like lightning strikes bbounce off the red. sometimes bright bold blue does too. but not as much as red. I also feel disoriented a lot and yesterday I was on the computer and my eyes were getting blurry like it felt l ike the blur was fading inward and getting more blurry but when I refocused I felt the blur go outward and gone. does that make sense? sometimes I see little blue floaters like the color of lightning. and one time during the heatwave over the summer I was at boarding school and we had lunch outside in 90 degree weather when I had a doctors note that I cant be outside when the heat index is 90 or above and they did not listen. so we were heading down to my cottage after lunch and we got insdie and I started heading upstairs andi started seeing white and gray swirls and had to sit down. and I get these weird auroras with my migraines. My migraines don't start off with headches. first my right hand goes numb then my whole arm then the right side of my face and the right side of my tongue then I start getting disoriented and my speech gets all slurred and doesn't make sense and my right hand turned all purple one time. one spell I had I was trying to check my blood sugar because at the time I had hypoglycemia my one medicine caused me to have hypoglycemia and I wnet to check my blood sugar and I couldn't get the strip in the machine or t he needle into the pen because my hand wouldn't work and my mind wasn't working. then since I couldn't do that my staff brought me juice and I didn't realize I was holding it and dropped it. then I start seeing lightning strikes and I felt like passing out then I got a really bad headache. but yes getting back on track I do get visual disturbances as well.
  23. I have asthma but I don't weeze. I always get the asthma cough. Its been worse this week I keep coughing and feeling shortness of breath. when it acts up its hard to eat until my breathing returns to normal. I don't know if there is more pollen out now or if allergies are worse. Also the past couple days I have been so so tired. I had so much anxiety last night for no reason at all and I didn't get to sleep until 2 am. I have been feeling worn down tired and depressed. I know I have reported about being disoriented numerous times I am sorry about that but it just scares me so. I have been drinking a lot of water and Gatorade and I have been eating stuff with lots of salt so idk what it could be and I have just been really off this week.
