  1. I've also started doing home made sauerkraut in a pick-l it jar which is an anaerobic environment and encourages growth of good bacteria including the clostridia group - it weirdly has no histamine which is why I have avoided fermented foods up till now as histamine makes my pots worse
  2. Thanks MarkA excellent article! I can't wait until the probiotics for the good clostridium group are the market. I've read about one from the blog cooling inflammation I'd like to try the product 'probiotic 3' clostridium butyricum which I think is part of this group.
  3. I too have severe inhalant allergies from mostly grasses, so many potsys have this it is not a coincidence. I wear a dust mask when taking clothes off the line to stop the flashing lights in my vision that signal to me that histamine is getting too high. I've been eating grain free the last 6 weeks and pots is a bit better, it could be related?
  4. I found out I have 90% strep gut bacteria through the bioscreen gut test in Australia (it should be 2%), I've also had OCD but not really bad, I wonder if it is also why I have pots? Autoimmune connection?

  6. Oh my goodness yes that is me too! Working full time is SO HARD i use up all the leave i can and somehow bumble through. All I can say is don't feel guilty for any decisions you make in your own best interest x
  7. I just had tooth cleaning at the dentist 2 weeks ago now have bad IBS again, I think it's due to strep in the biofilm tartar infecting my gut again badly . Just ask for no adrenaline in any shots you need and you'll be ok!
  8. I've just recently made an interesting observation. People with pots have trouble with histamine and other amine reactions, from food, pollen, heat, stress etc. Ive read that NET is also affected by amines Reuptake of NE is competitive with a variety of naturally occurring amines and drugs. See http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1518795/ . I guess this is why antihistamines help some with POTS. Would love to see more research into modulating NET, please post if you know more!
  9. A pea protein shake for breakfast and eating more veges along with fodmap diet has helped my ibs disappear
