  1. I like brightlifedirect.com. I have 5 pair of knee highs for over a year now and they still give me what I need... support and vascular return. They have been a lifesaver for work and home chores. Instead of abdomen support, I would recommend many mini meals during the day. I know it as grazing and it helps a great deal with POTS symptoms after eating. Mary
  2. Does anyone get these? I usually get them pre and during menses. No relief from motrin. I usually use a heating pad but only get some relief while the pad is on me. I have used heat to the point of blistering. When rubbing my fingers over my thighs I feel my muscle and I feel knots. I call them 'cigar knots' cause they feel like cigar stogies... The cramps are painful. I also massage my thighs deeply but that only provides relief until I quit. Any suggestions? Mary
  3. Dehydration is very bad for someone with POTS We need to keep our blood volume up with hydration and salts (to retain the fluid) which also works to keep our blood pressure up and our heart rate down. This will help to decrease our symptoms. Ling along with water, you need to hydrate yourself with sports drinks that contain sodium and potassium. These are a must. Go to the main POTS website and read under... What helps... Increasing fluids and salts is addressed there. Good luck, Mary
  4. Good morning. Beating the heat... Two things I rely on are gatorade and neck cobbers. I mix my own gatorade from the powder so it's not as strong. I drink lots of that and water also. For cobbers go to www.simplyoz.com. They are the greatest. I can tolerate the heat soooo much more and don't get as wiped out. They were a lifesaver for me since I refused to confine myself to the house in VA summers. They are reasonably priced and at times have sales. The designs are cute. I've gotten non ANS people wearing them and they love them while working in the yard When I wear them I occassionally rotate them on my neck and it's like re-cooling. Beware of the imposters sold in some stores. They aren't as nice and they are smaller in size. Let me know if this is of any help. Mary
