  1. Issey, thanks for posting this! From perusing your Links I can understand the Possible mechanisms of Alpha lipoid acid on vasodilation etc., but I have a hard time correlating the rat studies on the pancreas and grapefruit seed extract..... Can anyone explain the mechanisms of grapefruit seed extract on vasodilation or ischemia, etc? I did a blog post over on Cort Johnson's website, "health rising" reviewing a paper on micro vascular ischemia as the cause of The painful condition, allodynia. http://www.cortjohnson.org/blog/2013/06/05/when-touch-hurts-and-blood-matters-getting-at-thepain-in-fibromyalgia-and-chronic-fatigue-syndrome/ Thanks me curious if any other POTS patients have allodynia like I do?....
  2. rich And everyone, Nice discussion. Has anyone had discussions with medical practitioners with a lot of experience With patients having autonomic dysfunction as to what they speculate is the core cause? I've been watching the vagal nerve field for a few years. I personally think there has been a ignorance By researchers and medical practitioners of the electrical properties of the nervous system. Some interesting electrical procedures and gadgets are coming on board. The one I find most interesting is this one: http://www.cerbomed.com/ Can't wait for it to come to the United States.
  3. Thanks for the reference. And thanks for the comments. I took a look at that document and just scanned it quickly and this is the sort of thing that I'm looking to explore. ......."Lowered 11β-HSD activity results in higher peripheral and intrarenal concentrations of corticosterone in experimental animals and cortisol in humans, which may then interact with mineralocorticoid receptors and promote Na+ re-absorption." Now Florinef lowers potassium and promotes sodium reabsorption also. ... So the combination of the two might lower potassium levels in a Accelerated manner?
  4. Rama, thx a lot! what is the newsletter you are referring to?........... "In the new newsletter"
  5. I am doing research on the pharmacology of Florinef and the pharmacology of licorice root in order to try to get an understanding of what their possible interactions would be on the biochemical level. I'm wondering if anybody out there has any suggestions on good sources to read or is willing to expound on the subject. I know that Florinef is a mineralocorticoid and licorice root inhibits the enzyme that turns cortisol into Cortisone thus allowing more cortisol (a glucocorticoid) to circulate in the blood plasma. I'm especially interested in what each Drug does to the catecholamines, dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, etc. I'm trying to getting understanding of the potential interactions within the human body. I have A plethora of references on each separate Substance (Florinef, licorice root), but the specific interactions have been difficult to tease out (Outside of the statement that one will potentiate the other).
  6. I am on the front range here in colorado. for a state with such a educated population, you'd think we have a few docs with Dysautonomia knowledge.
  7. RAM, What do you mean by "serotonin is sensitive". What's the dynamics involved? I'm real curious.
  8. i Live in Colorado also and that storm around the 19th really hit me also. I have noticed that it's the dropping of the barometric pressure that is the trigger and usually it is steep, long drops that trigger thenworst symptoms. Once the pressure levels out, even if it is much lower, my symptoms usually abate a bit. I know here in Colorado sometimes it's just a beautiful sunny a very nice day and I'll feel like crap I wonder why until I check the barometric pressure. Or sometimes I wake up the next day and a big storm has moved in and then I realize why I felt so bad the day before. any of you colorado folks have a local doc who understands Dysautonomia and keeps up with the research?
  9. Please validate my membership. Happy posting of a saline I D I received and some neuromuscular symptomatic changes I experience from it.
