  1. EarthMother- I too had a horrible reaction to acupuncture! I called it accutorture! I am also throwing around the idea of taking this to my GP and see what he has to say. I have a feeling he is going to poo-poo it cause it's homeopathic in nature! Thanks for you reply!!
  2. Hello! Just got back from discussing this whole thing with my hubby. As for some of the questions you guys asked I will just try to explain it how he explained it. As for the parasite he said I could have picked it up from alot of different sources such as in water, food etc. I asked what does a parasite have to do with what is going on in my ANS and he said matter of factly that parasites secrete neuro toxins. So that to me meant it was an actual parasite not just figuratively. He said that my acid reflux is probably not an abundance of acid but the lack of acid. I have heard that before so that wasnt new to me. After it was all said and done he had me taking 8 different supplements to help rid me of the parasite and build back my digestive health. A few are to help the liver and kidney. It is a type of program that he wants you to do. You are coming in each week for about 6 weeks re-testing to see what the body is saying in response to the supplements. It's all very out there for even me...I like homeopathic care but this is really a stretch for me. I was very honest with him when I said it is difficult to put my hope into anything anymore and not to take my skepticism personally! My husband says that this guy makes more sense than any of the "bozos" we've seen and that I should give it a shot since I dont have any other game plans currently. He joked that the worse thing that couldnt happen is I get detoxed and it will be one more thing to check off the "what else is there" list! I will either get a miracle or a squeaky clean digestive track! Thanks for all your input....you guys totally make it sooo much better! KC
  3. I posted about the autonomic muscle testing earlier this week to see if any of you had ever done this and I only got one reply. I had a consultation with a nutritionist/acupuncturist who relies on this type of testing to assess what is going on in the nervous system. Little did I know he was going to do a Heart Rate Variability test! He came in with the results and as we went over them he explained how things looked pretty good when I was lying down but when I stood up there was trouble. Not terrible but not normal. Finally a professional said it appears you have a dysfunction in your autonomic nervous system! Then we did the muscle testing. This was the hardest part for me to "grasp". When it was all over he looked at me and said you have a parasite and we need to get your liver and kidneys working better. A parasite? What the Buck Rogers was he talking about? All I can say is I am thinking it over....long and hard. Some of you may have some negative things to say about this but I would appreciate it if you didn't. Everyone has their own thoughts and right now mine are focused on being positive about ANY possibility of getting better! However if you have something positive to say I would love to hear it! Best wishes for a great evening everyone! KC :-)
  4. I am just loving reading all these replies! I wonder if you can start out with a somewhat compromised nervous system. I was ADHD as a child but did not take anything for it. Now my youngest is taking Ritalin and I worry about his little nervous system since this all started for me. I feel like it was just laying there waiting to rear it's ugly head when it had taken all it could take. I am so much better now but not normal or what I used to think was normal! Can there be such a thing as a completely fried nervous system without some serious underlying medical condition? I'm not sure....I cant find a doctor that knows what they are doing to figure that out! I am having the autonomic muscle testing done this morning and I'm just dying to know what this guy is going to say! I have no faith in this and am going purely out of "I've got to hear this" kind of thinking! And just to throw this out there....I'm really getting sick and tired of people saying to me "Are you still going thru that? You need to learn to relax girl!" They have NO IDEA what this is like....if I could just relax and it would go away dont you think I would have done that a year ago? Ok I will politely step off the soap box and leave for my appointment now! :-)
  5. I am fairly new on here so I apologize if the info I posted was old. I just found it and thought I would share it since it talked about the centers opening up in different states to treat our very complicated disorder. Thanks for all your input on this article! KC
  6. If I get adjusted by my chiropractor I will feel very strange most of the day. Like a very faint internal tremor and a heartrate that is in the 100-120 range all day. Then the next day I feel better. It is so weird!
  7. How long you been dealing with this Mountain Girl? In the beginning of mine I couldnt handle being the passenger in a car let alone ride for more than 30mins as the driver! It was like the vibration of the car would just mess me up BAD! I wish I could sleep 12 hours....kudos to you!
  8. I think the the author of the article was just talking about her personal experience but it seems like people get the dysautonomia from alot of different factors. I have read it can come from having a bad viral infection to having breast implants done! I read everything with the thought of what can I learn from this. I learned that there are centers being built to treat autonomic disorders and that is fantastic for all of who know something is wrong but cant get the right care! My doctor doesnt understand it but tries to be as helpful as he can. It is a baffling condition and anything positive I read just makes my day!
  9. Hello Again! Sorry I just seem to be full of 'New Topics' today! I was wondering if anyone finds that their symptoms are much more noticeable when they do not get enough rest? I have started to notice this when I have my wake up at 3am and toss and turn days and I had a complete freak out when we drove non-stop from Las Vegas. I felt pretty ok and then it just hit me like a ton of bricks! It took me 2 days to get to feeling like I was under control! I assume that this has to do with the fact that the nervous system is greatly affected by sleep. Hoping for a restful night tonight! :-)
  10. Hi Julie- I appreciated alot about the article but the hypoglycemia part was very interesting to me too! It was explained to me that when all that is happening (glucose-insulin release when you eat) that the body releases bits of epinephrine and some people (like those with a really messed up nervous system) can be SO sensitive to it that it gives them this little rush of jittery ness and heart palps and or racing. I dont know if that's really true but it could explain why episodes occur when I eat and when I am really hungry or even in the middle of the night when I wake up 2am! :-) It's just very nice to have other to talk to about it cause NO ONE understands this unless you have gone through it yourself! Have a splendid day! KC
  11. Read this article and was surprised to see at the end the writer talking about centers dedicated to autonomic disorders popping up in some states! http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2...mia.html?cat=70
  12. Happy Halloween! You guy are always such a wealth of information and support so I thought I would ask you all if you had ever tried this autonomic muscle testing? I did a consultation with a nutritionist guy here in my town who as a superb reputation and people really believe he "saved their life" so I had to give him a shot...what else do I have to lose? LOL! I told him my whole long sorted story and he believes he can help me. I told him I'm too tired physically and emotionally to believe in any other thing that is "supposed" to help. He said let me do the muscle testing and we will go from there. They way he explained it, there is no guessing, the body tells him what it is lacking and what the problem truly is. I'm going to do it just to see what it says but I have ZERO faith right now in this. My husband on the other hand was incredibly impressed with his explanations so that made me feel somewhat better. Anyway, any input would be appreciated! Thanks so much and I hope all is well at least for the moment! :-) KC
  13. Well it seems it is split down the middle on whether or not to get the vaccine. I am going to try to put a link to the new cast I saw and then it was later put in Dr. Mercola's newsletter. I am feeling like I will take my chances with the flu and being that my son's little buddy from down the street has it my chances are closer than I thought! LOL! Thanks everyone you're the best! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1z7KSEnyxw&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1z7KSEnyxw&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1z7KSEnyxw&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  14. I'm really afraid of getting the dreaded Swine Flu! I have never gotten a flu shot and I've never gotten the flu but since having all my autonomic problems I feel like it would kick my butt like no one's business! Does it really affect us more? I'm worried about the fluid levels as I need to drink a ton of Powerade just to feel good. I definitely think the shot is out of the question. A guy that was an infectious disease specialist was on Fox news saying he wouldnt give it to himself or his kids and definitely no if you have any neurological issues. I would think that even means my ADD son! Thanks for reading and hearing me out....you guys are the only ones who really understand how much this affects your life! KC :-)
  15. I tried acupuncture 8 times and each time I would have an episode come on about an hour afterward. Sometimes it would last an hour or for several hours! I have not been back to try again as I was tired of dealing with the episodes. I guess my nervous system couldn't handle all the energy moving around! :-) I feel weird after massages but it goes away quickly....kinda like when I see the chiropractor. Good luck!
  16. Thanks for all the great input! I can see we are all very passionate about....being passionate!
  17. That was too funny Erika! I have the opposite problem...I get cold and then I start to shake and then the moment is gone for me and it takes alot to get back there! My poor hubby is about sweating to death with all these covers so I can stay relatively warm! Good thing we have good men who understand!
  18. This is all very interesting ladies! I did have actual pain the last time but that hasnt been the case every time. My OB gave me some sort of vaginal cream to help with dryness and I took that to my ND and he had a bio-identical version of it made. I just keep forgetting to use it...maybe if I was diligent about it I may see an improvement. Being relatively young (I'll be 39 next month) and having these problems is just crazy to me. I have had dryness issues for quite some time but what I'm talking about is either pain during or once reaching "the" spot just feeling very strange and noticing the effects all the next day!
  19. Thank you guys for being bold enough to answer! I was beginning to really feel odd about this and honestly I haven't really discussed it with hubby as I don't want him to feel bad and I know he would! It's nice to know someone else understands you since so many friends/family/doctors dont have a clue!
  20. I dont know really how to ask so I'm just gonna throw it out there and hope no one takes offense! I'm wondering about sexual dysfunction. I have felt so "off" for a while now and I just dont know how to deal with it. In my mind I am there (if you know what I mean) but my body doesnt cooperate alot of the time. When I am able to participate I often feel very strange afterwards. The big "O" used to bring a feeling that was wonderful...now it sets me off. Is this common? I am afraid to try the SSRI's because I dont need any more hurdles in the bedroom! :-) Thanks Ladies!
  21. When this all began for me back in Dec. I had it really bad! I would take 2 bites of food and I would begin to shake and my heart would start racing. I would feel very dizzy and my vision would tweek out...I got to a point where I avoided eating! I have found lately it doesnt happen as much or as bad as it used to! All the doctors I went and saw just looked at me like I was crazy when I told them this symptom! :-)
  22. Thanks M-to-G! I was wondering about this and so I thought I would post it. Back when this first all started I would have that feeling all day and night. I am often awakened by racing heart around the same time each day. That gets old! Nice to hear your input! KC
  23. I'm interested in knowing what people have to say too! I've read up on it and I was thinking of trying it also. Hope you get some replies!
  24. Hi! Yesterday I took your advice and got my wrist cuff out and made sure to take my BP/HR when I woke up before I even got out of bed and directly after upon standing. The results were this: Lying Down: 89/52 with 56HR Upon Standing: 84/53 with 88HR Now I took it again later on in the afternoon and all I had was a 10bpm increase in HR. So my question is can it just happen in the morning? I dont even know what a "normal" persons HR does in the morning. Maybe I should have my husband do it so I can see what his is! On another note, I saw a new chiropractor who did some really different (from what I'm used to) adjustment and I slept a 100 times better last night. He says there are these specific numbers of vertebrae that are directly linked to the nervous system...any of you had improvement after seeing a chiropractor? He used some sort of percussion instrument. Have a great Tuesday! Thanks so much! KC
  25. Glad you asked this Abbriggs cause I was gonna post something similiar so I hope people answer! I just saw my doc on Friday and we decided on trying Zoloft 25mg because it was the only one listed in his book that was scored so I could cut that in half. I was reading today that Celexa has less side affects but I think they meant the ones that SSRI are usually associated with. Hope you get your answers so I can read them too! :-)
