  1. Hey Alicia! Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner. I have to say I have been really tired with this whole strep ordeal! So I dont know if I'm reading this right but are you still having a fever after taking all your medication or do you mean day 7 since you started getting sick? I have been taking Advil or Tylenol. I dont seem to be sensitive to it. All I did was drink cold water....I'm surprised that isnt soothing to your throat. I have ate eggs and yogurt for like a week now and I am soooooooooo ready for some real food! My throat is still very sore tho so I dont know when real food will happen! I know this condition is very hard to deal with all by it's self so when you add extra things on top of that it makes it very frustrating! Keep your chin up girl....you're stronger than you think! :-)

  2. Good Morning Tearose!

Sorry to hear you are dragging. I am on day 4 of Zithromax and I am feeling ok. I think I am just tired from being sick. The fever just sucked the life out of me! My nutritionist said that I may feel extra tired as my body works hard to fight the strep. Maybe you're body is just working overtime to heal. Make sure you are getting plenty of rest...especially at night time. Between the hours of of like 10pm and 2am our bodies go into a serious healing mode is what I was told. Keep your chin up and finish all your medicine so the infection doesnt come back!

  3. Hi Alicia!

I just posted on this subject over the weekend as I knew I was coming down with strep throat. My doctor gave me the azithromax and I was very leary of taking it, as most of are with any new medication, even though I have had this antibiotic before. So far I have had no unusual reactions. I believe that anything that affects the nervous system is going to make you feel odd. I had a hard time with the fever that came along with the strep. I hope you feel better and try not to be afraid to take the rest of the pack....if it is strep it needs to be treated or it can cause problems in other places in the body! Keep your chin up!

  4. Thanks for your reply Sunfish! I think this was the right call on the antibiotics as the strep virus can do damage to other parts if left untreated. Only time will tell how I will feel when this is all said and done. After my initial dose yesterday I felt "odd" for about 30mins and then it was fine. I really struggled with racing heart yesterday. The fever makes it really race. Anytime I get hot it just goes crazy so I guess that is to be expected. Does anyone else have the racing heart when they get hot thing? I mean like even a heating pad on your back can set you off type of thing!

  5. Hey all! Thanks for your thoughts. It's interesting to me that some would feel better on antibiotics. I saw the doc and it's strep and tonsillitis! He said I need to a round on antibiotics and I told him I usually only take Zithromax but it had been quite awhile since I had taken them and certainly not since all this started. He gave me that oh stop worrying about everythink you take look and said it should be fine if you've done well on it before. I really HATE it when people do that. They have NO IDEA what this is like and I would cut off my left arm to never go back to how I felt last December! I'll let you guys know how I do on the med.

    Thanks again!

  6. Thank you guys sooooo much! I am going to go see my doc on Monday. He works at the urgent care here in town on Mon/Wed so I'd rather wait to see him since he knows what is up with me. It's too late to go now anyway. I thought my body would freak out dealing with this fever but it really isnt so bad. I notice when the medicine wears off I can feel my heart racing/palpitating more but then it settles down when I take another round of meds! I appreciate your guys' input....I would have gone completely crazy if I hadnt found this site!

  7. Hey guys! I woke up a little sick on Turkey Day and then started feeling really bad when I was shopping on Black Friday. I thought I was getting something but by the afternoon I was MISERABLE and in bed! My first thought was H1N1 but then I looked in my throat and saw I had some white spots forming. Today it is very VERY sore! I have a fever of 101 but I'm taking pain relievers. My question is have any of you had any negative experiences to antibiotics? I know they will say I have to take them if it's strep! Help me 'Thankful' I need a professional opinion!!! LOL!

  8. I have this alot but mostly at night when I'm real tired or when I get adjusted by the chiropractor. I have told my doc this and he just looks at me with the blank stare! I think it happens at night cause my nervous system has been stimulated all day and on certain days it just wants to shake a bit! It doesnt bother me as much as it used to but definitely gets on your nerves!

PS- Dont worry about answering my message until you are feeling better ok? :-)

Thanks Mkoven and Maxine for your advice and support! I'm home, feeling as "normal" as ever... whatever that is! I was sent home with a script for sublingual nitro. My cardio wasn't able to get in touch with my Mayo doc, and he didn't want to start me on anything that might worsen my symptoms before he had a full understanding of my illness. I'll see him again in 2 weeks.

It's so great to be HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  10. So happy that's over! Hopefully the new cardio guy will be of help after this is all settled down! Keep in touch! :)

I just did a stress test. My supine heart rate was 60 and standing was 120's. BP was in normal range, and I didn't have any dysrhythmias during the test. My cardiologist is waiting for a call from my Mayo doc to make sure he didn't miss anything. But my chest pain is pretty much gone even without the O2 and nitro. I kept telling them that I'd gotten the H1N1 vaccine Monday afternoon. I still wonder if I had a sympathetic surge of some kind because of the shot, but the cardio doesn't think it's related and will follow up with me and see about keeping me on a beta/alpha blocker of some type.

I should go home sometime today! :)

My poor hubby and I are getting used to having strange symptoms/flares with no explanation. We're just thankful when it's over.

  11. Definitely know what you mean! The 2nd one especially as it seems to happen the most. It does feel like it's goes right through to my back. Right about where the bra comes together in front and right to the back side! I absolutely HATE it when it happens. I just want it to go away so I can get on with whatever it was I was doing! A few months back it happened when I would eat really bad so I would walk afterwards and it felt better but the whole time I felt like I could just keel over and die! I would even take my cell phone just in case something happened! This is no way to live! Ugh!!! ;-)

  12. This is so odd because I notice the same thing too. I've been that way since I can remember! When I had my kidney stone in 2007 the ER doc asked my hubby if I had been throwing up and he said no just uncomfortable and he said wow we have grown men in here crying their eyes out! I just thought it was because I had 2 babies that were HUGE so I was used to it! LOL! I would rather birth a 10lb baby than birth a stone the size of a piece of sand!

  13. I got my first stone in 2007 then again in 2008. That was before my dysauto stuff started but I have had kidney pain that feels just like a stone is coming and then nothing! Very odd. It's always in my left side too. I'd have to get my records from my urologist and ask where the scan said I have some stones still!

  14. I completely understand this! I just noticed this weird vertigo like dizziness coming with my cycle this month. I had that in the very beginning but it went away so I was surprised to see it back again! I only have my ovaries but my body still goes through all the motions that's for sure! I am already dreading a girlfriends outing next month due to it being that time of the month! What we go through as women! :-)
