  1. I take doxepin (3mg - tiny dose) and a benzo. I tried for years to sleep med-free, but my POTS symptoms are really exacerbated by insomnia.
  2. Intriguingly, I also read somewhere (prob here!) that some subgroups of patients actually do worse with their bed tilted. I can't remember the explanation but it made sense at the time. Will be interested to follow this thread and read any info on why it does/doesn't help various people. Glad you felt a little better though when you tried it, Bella.
  3. So heartening to hear that many others have the same struggles with showering/bathing that I do. When I'm well enough to shower, I shower in the evening so I can go straight back to bed and recover overnight. I use a shower chair and don't have the water too hot. Someone has to be around to help me as well. I've had quite a lot cut off my hair to make it easier to manage too.
  4. My experience was similar. I think I managed to keep taking it for 2 - 3 weeks, but the side effects were such that I couldn't continue. You never know until you give it a go though, I know others who do great on it!
  5. I'm also wondering if slow-release sodium is available in Australia. I just take the normal salt tabs but slow-release would be preferable. I salt my food but it's never enough. If anyone knows, would love to hear!
  6. Good luck, kayjay. Really hope they can help you.
  7. Adding my name to the list - I don't really do anything about it except be super careful, and start everything at tiny doses, no matter what I'm prescribed.
  8. Haven't really got anything useful to add, other than that I get itching too. Fascinated to hear that others do, I thought it was just me!
  9. Hi njfainter, I've found www.iherb.com to be great.
  10. Hi Lenna, I've never tried these myself, but would they be suitable? https://www.prohealth.com//shop/product.cfm...duct__code/MJ01
  11. For a cheaper mineral makeup than Bare Minerals, but still good quality, Everyday Minerals is good & they ship internationally. http://www.everydayminerals.com I can't wear mineral makeup, my skin's already dry and it just dehydrates it further, but I know a few people who love EM. You used to be able to get free samples if you paid for postage, not sure if that's still the case or not. I have really sensitive skin and I've found a handy thing for applying liquid foundation very quickly (reducing the time I need to be upright) and without causing extra irritation is the Beauty Blender sponge. Expensive, but for me, worth it. I can't use brushes as the friction irritates my skin too much. http://www.beautyblender.net/sponge.html I've heard that the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge is cheaper sponge and similar in concept to the Beauty Blender, but I've never tried it. http://www.target.com/Sonia-Kashuk-237-Ble...e/dp/B00149XKOY
