AJVDK
Ok today my husband finally was home; as I am no longer working he is making up for it by working his job, and then still running our company business on the side. Today we went into town to get lunch. I got this very odd and scary feeling. I was just sitting on the seat in the car when I began to get a really bad pain in my arm ( left side), in fact it was so bad I couldn't talk, I felt like I couldn't breath, and my chest felt like someone was standing on it. It only lasted about 25- 30 seconds, and then it went away. Now I am just left with being worn out, but I was very scared. I have got chest pain and pressure brfore, but not like this before. Since it went away should I be worried? Or is it just a POTS thing and it no bid deal?
Dizzy Dame
Any severe chest pain should be checked out by your doctor, especially "crushing" pain like you describe. I'd call your doc and schedule an appointment, and if it comes back before you can be seen, you might want to consider going to the ER. Just my two cents.- Lauren
laila
Go to the Doctor now! or ER! Somethings like that just can't be put off. Please, please , please. Do you have an urgent care center near you. There is usually not as bad a wait as an ER.
AJVDK
Thats for the imput I am this alittle scared but it has not happen since early today, I am going to call my doctor in the am, and try to get it. I try to stay clear of the ER as I haven't had the best luck. They never know anything about pots. I am just going to take it easy untill I get a hold of the doctor.Again Thanks,Amy
persephone
The thing is, EVERYONE gets pain like that at some point- even normal healthy folks. If it was only 25-30 seconds and you're ok now, maybe you don't want to rush to the ER right away?I only say that because I experience chest pain A LOT- and the first time I felt my heart go all funny when I was wired up to a monitor I siad "are you catching it- I'm feeling odd!" and they told me it was a set of PVS (premature ventricular contractions) and that healthy people can have up to ten a day- so it may be that althought it feels terrible, it's not outwith the realms of normality.I got told by the autonomic nurse specialist in London the other week that loads of pots patients get really bad chest pain and no one relaly knows why cos their hearts are FINE.My own cardiologist thinks a lot of my pain is caused by EDS and joint pain that can be felt especially in the chest. Are you hypermobile/ do you have eds?I'm not a dr, I don't know- but if your gut feeling is to get cheked out, then maybe you should; let us know how you are. AJVDK
I called the doctor today. I got an appointment on Tuesday. What is EDS? I do get alot of joint pain, also I have so much leg pain, I am always seem to be on pain pills. My doctor told me it could be pots so he just give me pain pills tp help, but all it does is take the edge off. Is there somthing I should be asking them more about the joint pain also? I am going to try to say alot of questions. I agree some to, that why I didn't want to go to the ER right away as I thought it might just be a new pots thing. Well I will keep you all posted. I am off to go back to bed!Talk to you all later!Amy
