Heartbroken
My catecholamines levels in the past were so high that my Dr. thought I may have Pheo, but last week he told me now they are normal. Is that possible? the only new thing is now I am on thyroid med. Appreciate your input.
Pistol
@Heartbroken - were you resting when they took the normal catecholamines? They normally check them both resting and active, I had to recline for 30 minutes, take a sample, walk for 30 minutes and take another sample. For me both samples were elevated but often the resting levels are normal and only the upright cats are elevated. Is it possible that they collected the sample when you were resting? Heartbroken
Yes Pistol you are right, they took both samples in a sitting position. I asked my cardiologist to order the test in different positions, but he ignored me and gave me silence treatment. I know for sure my catecholamines are much higher when I am standing but there is no way to convince my Dr. even with print outs (studies done by experts). Hypothyroidism is known to increase catecholamines. Your new medication may well explain the difference. B xxx
